Our daughters are mother’s delights,
They give us their love through out our life.
They come into this world on us they depend,
This is a task our great joy transcends.

They grow day after day learning many things,
While to their mother a little girl will still cling.
With her so many hours you shall spend together,
In that small world you are everything to her.

Her first day of school seems like an ending,
You can sense on you she won’t be so depending.
Even with a teacher and friends to fill her day,
Soon you learn she still needs you in so many ways.

Life’s hard as she may even be a rebellious teen,
No longer a girl but not yet a woman she’s between.
Now becoming her own person some closeness is gone,
But from your influence her values are strong.

One day that special young man will come along,
And before you know it she is married and gone.
You feel like your life surely came to its finish,
But soon she calls for your help as you have wished.

A mother to a daughter your daughter then becomes.
Experiencing this she knows where you are coming from.
Now she understands how you were through the years,
And she holds that deepening bond with you so dear.

That mother-daughter circle your life has now fulfilled.
Each generation was daughter then mother as life you built.
God’s blessing to mothers are surely their daughters,
Those not having a daughter do have a mother loving her.

I feel that loving bond between daughter and mother,
Is one so unique that shall never be surpassed by no other.
I thank God for my mother and for my daughter so loving,
Giving me understanding of how daughters are special beings.
