Title

Small

I remember that day long ago,
When we two first met.
Seeing that most stunning lady,
The one I knew I’d not forget.

I could see through your eyes,
Way down deep into your soul.
Yours was such a beautiful heart,
Which was just as pure gold.

Everyone was quick to speculate,
I was not the guy for you.
They said I just wasn’t good enough,
I’m happy you had a different view.

You took that big chance on me,
That I would be your special one.
We started spending time together,
As our love story had then begun.

We spent many hours with each other,
Soon we were so deeply in love.
I knew I would make you my bride,
You was the lifetime mate I dreamed of.

Our wedding day you were gorgeous,
In that long gown of white.
To me you looked just like an angel,
My bride was a most beautiful sight.

You said I was the only man you loved,
You called me your handsome knight.
I felt like the luckiest guy in the world,
As true love our passions did ignite.

We had a life of abundant happiness,
Which lasted many wonderful years.
Today, in sorrow, I now must say goodbye,
Kissing your lips through my tears.

I don’t know why God took you away,
Leaving me in this world all alone.
But I know one day in the future,
We’ll reunite when I too go home.
