In August 2008, the Deputy Head Teacher from Acklam Grange School and his wife visited Meserani School and handed over a further $10,000 so that the building work on the third and fourth classrooms could be continued. Images are shown below. Meetings were held with the staff at Einoti Secondary School to set up the funding of pupils from Meserani School and Lesiraa School to attend full-time secondary education at Einoti School. Further meetings were held with Barry Hale from Meserani Snake Park and Zach Laizer, our local contact with the Maasai population. It was agreed to set up a committee of local officials, who would make the decision as to which pupils would actually receive this funding. Pupils sit their national examinations in September, with the results being known in November/December. Once the pupils have been selected in December, they would start at Einoti Secondary School in January 2009. |

Just to remind us of how overcrowded the classrooms are at Meserani School.
Staff and pupils are shown some of the pictures that were taken during the most recent visit.
The first two classrooms have almost been completed.
The blackboard, the windows and the doors are in place, and all that are needed now are the desks and benches.
The foundations for the third and fourth classrooms have been completed, and work will soon be starting on the walls.
