Every Monday at Bills Bar on Lansdowne Street is a treat for us Metal heads, they
have Monsta Monday and it's fueled by Metal. February 9th was no exception. This
was a Deek McDeekula, Pure Rock Fury event featuring Trauma Concept, Seemless,
Beyond The Embrace and Random Acts of Violence. Ok I got there late and missed
Trauma Concept, but have seen them before and can tell you they always put on a
stellar performance. So just in time for Seemless, ex-members of Medium, Diecast,
Shadows Fall and the original singer of Killswitch Engage. So it is no surprise
all the talent that flowed from this band. They played a bunch of songs off their
new Self Titled Cd and I was impressed. Jesse has a great voice and Derek is one
of the best drummers around. My suggestion to you is contact the band and get the
cd and definitely make it out to their next show. On comes Beyond The Embrace,
they just finished recording the new cd, I believe called Incent, with Ken from
Unearth producing. So we got to hear three new songs from the upcoming cd and
let's just say BTE always a good thing. Plus they played my favorite song off
Against the Elements, Rapture and I went off like everyone else. I spoke with the
guys after their set to find out when we can expect the cd and they told me, end
of April or beginning of May, so stay tuned for the updates. Next up, Random Acts
Of Violence, these four guys kill me every time I see them. RAOV's music is so
intense and captivating, and they did three new songs, which was a definite plus
in my book. By the way, Matt and James were sporting mustaches that evening, So
Andy nicknamed them Mario and Luigi for the event. They did my favorite songs
too, Unleashing and Mourn The Loss, so I was in my glory. All in all this night
of metal gets two horns up. \m/\m/
