Ok for a Tuesday night, the place seemed to be sold out. I got there just as
With Honor finished their set, sorry guys, I couldn't get out of work to make
it on time. While hanging out I saw some familar faces, Brian of Shadows Fall
was hanging with the Sworn Enemy guys. I caught up with Brian and he told me
that Shadows Fall are writing and will soon be recording for another record.
WOOHOO!!! Just what I wanted to hear.Made my way upstairs to catch up with the
As I Lay Dying boys, to wish them a good night and see how they are doing
since their last trip in Boston. They were ready to go on and kick the crap
out of the place. Very cool. All the while one of the guys in Sworn Enemy was
video taping everything, he just got the new toy and told me he needed to use
it all night. Ok back downstairs for Himsa and they were really good. That was
my first time hearing them and was pleasantly surprised. Next up, As I Lay
Dying and no lack of energy here. I was taking photos or trying anyway. They
were jumping up and down, like they were in the mosh pit. As I Lay Dying's
music is so intense and heavy, just what I enjoy. Definitely pick up their
Frail Words Collapse cd off Metal Blade Records if you don't have it already,
trust me you will like it. Here comes New York's finest in Hard Core, Sworn
Enemy. Earlier in the evening SE's front man told me he was going to wear his
Yankees shirt, I said please no, we are still reeling over the whole AROD
fiasco. Well to my surprise he did not sport the pin stripes and I got some
great photos. But regardless, they are so good and heavy I don't think it
would have mattered. They did one of my favs, One Way Trip, which I later
found out is one of their easiest songs to do and not one of their favs. But I
love it and they played like crazed escapees from some insane asylum. Brian,
Shadows Fall, decided he wanted to mosh with the kids, ran from the back of
the stage and dove right in. But no one really caught him and I saw him go
down into the crowd. I think he's ok, saw him after the show and he said he a
was a little sore but in one piece. When SE did their anthem, Sworn Enemy the
crowd was sick and so was I. Tom(Continued Without A Finding) and I went
upstairs for a night cap with SE. Hung out with As I Lay Dying and Himsa and
had a great time til we got kicked out at closing. I guess techno time was
happening for Axis, so us Metal heads had to go. This was definitely a two
metal horns up night!! \m/\m/
