When Death metal and Hardcore punk mated, Grindcore emerged. The emphasis here is on powerful blastbeats on drums and speedy guitar-picking. Guitar is essentially Hardcore punk, but with the added heaviness of metal. Mellow breaks and melodic tunes will not be found in this genre.
