Telling 1~ A sorceress’s dreams!

Once upon a time in the country of Sailoon, a group of bandits were looting a restaurant. (Don’t ask me why) But, to their unfortunate luck, it was occupied by a sorceress who wasn't too happy that they had knocked over the table, where she sat eating a delicious lunch. Wearing a crimson, white, and yellow outfit, a purple and black cape, with long, red/ orange hair...was Lina Inverse.

"Fireball!"

"AAAUUUGGHH!!"

That night her very good friend, Princess Amelia wil tesla Sailoon, allowed this sorceress stay at her castle.

Now when this sorceress went to bed, she always had strange dreams with much nonsense and nilly-willy. The usual flying cows with cowboys riding them and purple men with purple umbrellas flying up and down and all around. After all of that her sleepy form fell into a whirlpool of mixed dreams and landed onto a chair where she was seated and given a cup of tea by a penguin in a black tuxedo. Across from her stood a nameless form of chaos in the form of a little golden child. It spoke.

Lina, Get Up And Go Find A Fortune Teller And Some Talismans.

"Hey I'm trying to sleep here!” said Lina taking the tea and taking it sip only to find out it is prune juice. “Go bother someone else like Zel, huh?"

Go And Enforce My Will.

"Why should I?"

Because I Said So.

"Wait a minute...who are you anyway?"

Isn't It Obvious?

"No."

The Lord Of Nightmares.

Lina folded her arms. “If you are the Lord of Nightmares, show me your true form!”

I Can Not.

“Why not?”

Any Mortal Who Sees My True Form Will Not Too Overwhelmed And Will Die Of Shock.

“But I’m sleeping!”

Makes No Difference.

"Um okay then…Well why do I have to find some dumb fortune teller and a bunch of talismans for?"

Because I Said So. These Are The Talismans.

Six red jewels popped out and began danced in the air.

"What's so special these talismans?"

They Are The Keys.

“To what?”

No answer came from the nameless chaos.

"Fine. Whatever. Now leave me alone so I can go back dreaming what I usually dream about."

Purple men with purple umbrellas flying up and down and all around?

"Um, yeah."

Good Night Lina Inverse. May Fortune’s Will Guide You.

“Um, thanks.” And with that, Lina Inverse returned to her cows and cowboys and purple men with purple…

Bright and sunny the next day, Lina, our hero, sits at a table in a very fine restaurant awaiting for a particular person to walk in. As this person strode to the table she happened to sit on, he pulled off the hood and mask he wore, revealing a face glittering with bluish stone skin and wired purple/ blue hair. He sat directly in front of the sorceress.

"Why'd you call me?" asked the chimera.

Lina sat up straight, "Zel, I had a weird dream last night."

The chimera, Zelgadiss Greywords, raised an eyebrow, "I walked across the country to come here and find out why you called me but it's all because you had a bad dream?"

"Look, it wasn't any normal dream! I was like talking to the Lord of Nightmares!"

"And what did L-sama want with you?" he asked sarcastically.

The waiter came to their table, "What would you like sir?"

"A cup of coffee." Replied Zel.

Lina looked at the menu, "I'll have this and this and this and this double portions."

"Um, all right..." He left

Lina dropped the menu and went back to Zel. "She wanted me to find some girl who's a fortune teller somewhere and I need to get her to become the wizard she was meant to be. And find a couple of talismans and put them in a shrine in Sairaag." When the food came, Lina started stuffing herself.

Zelgadiss took a sip of his coffee. "Did she really tell you all of that?"

"Mmrph, yes."

"And I still don't see why you called me."

Lina dropped her fork and knife and leaned closer to Zelgadiss. "I wanted your advice on this. What should I do? Ignore the dream, or do as it said?"

"Well, Sorcerer dreams are usually visions and real life things.” He told her. “Did the Lord of Nightmares feel dream-like or more real?"

“More real.” Lina replied.

“Well, it’s your choice.” Zel crossed his arms. “Do as you like.”

She sighed and slumped back down to her chair, "Geez, I could've just gotten that answer from Gourry or Amelia."

"Don't put me as low as Gourry please."

"I guess I'll try it, but where the Hell am I going to find some fortuneteller in this world?"

Zelgadiss put his cup down. "Dunno."

Back at the castle...

Zelgadiss decided to stay for the night since it would take a while to get back to where he was. They all were inside Lina's room (Lina, Zelgadiss, Amelia, and Gourry), talking about where to find a fortuneteller.

"Hey Gourry," Lina sat on her bed, "Remember when we were in that forest before Zel, Dilgear, and Rodimus attack us? I was telling you about, er, that it was that 'time of the month' for me? You told me that there was a fortuneteller in your hometown right? Could she be it?"

Gourry thought for a minute and said, "You'd think I'd remember something like that."

"Right, right. My bad."

A moment of uneasy silence....until...

"Oh now I remember!" Gourry shouted, "But Lina, I heard she retired and some other girl is replacing her."

"Great! We'll check there! Where is it Gourry?"

"Testaborne." He replied.

"So Gourry, Amelia, and Zel! Get some sleep! We'll head out tomorrow!" Lina beamed at them. She made an 'Amelia stomping evil' pose.

"Hey Miss Lina! That's my pose!" cried Amelia.

Zel butted in, "Ah, no."

Lina turned to him. "What do you mean no?"

"I can't go to Testaborne. There's someone there that I don't want to see right now." He began to leave the room.

"Who's this person?" Gourry asked.

"I can't say."

"Mr. Zelgadiss is not coming?" Tears began to form in Amelia's eyes. "But I thought we were a team!"

"Don't break Amelia's heart Zel." Lina grabbed his collar and shoved him onto the bed. "If you don't come, I'll burn your butt off with a fireball after all of this is finished."

The chimera gulped, "Actually, now, I could try and avoid the person."

Lina smiled, "Glad you see it my way. Okay everyone, off to sleep!" She shoved everyone out of her room and jumped into bed.

A fun park was the ideal setting for a dream, with pink trolls on the slides and swings. Lina sat on a bench feeding bird sized cows that ate around her feet. A little golden child, with a purple balloon that was shaped as a certain purple Monster’s head, sat down on the bench beside her.

I Did Not Expect That You Would Listen To Me. I Had Thought You Were Very Pig-headed.

"Oh stop bothering me. You're as annoying as Rowdy Gabriev." Said Lina as a pink troll handed her some blue chocolate ice cream.

Better Hurry Up And Find Those Talismans Before He Does.

"Who?"

The golden child hummed a song and kicked her feet up into the air. She did not reply.

"Just as annoying as Xelloss, too."

Say Hello To Him For Me, Please.

"I don't think I'd like to run into him again."

Oh That Is Too Bad.

"What did you just say?"

Nothing.

She sighed. "Hey, where am I going to get those talismans?"

She Will Know.

"The Fortuneteller?"

She hummed.

"L-sama!"

What Do You Think?

Outside the window...

“Ow,” whined a purple-headed man, “Sitting out on a ledge isn’t exactly a comfortable thing to do.” He sighed and continued to listen to Lina talk in her sleep.

“At least other things are going just as planned.” He stood up and almost fell off. “I should prepare the next step then.” He floated of the ledge and vanished.

The morning...

"Where's Lina?" Asked Gourry.

Zelgadiss sighed, "She left just a minute ago. Don’t you remember?"

"Uh, no."

"Miss Lina went to get supplies."

"I'm back!" The doors swing open and the young sorceress comes in with a handful of stuff that was really not needed.

"Great, let's get going."

"Uh Lina," says Amelia, "Who is the bad guy we're fighting against? You didn't tell us."

"Quite frankly, I don't think we have one."

"Oh,"

"But quite frankly, that's a good thing. We'll just walk in and walk out without needing to watch our backs. So, is everyone ready to start another quest?"

"Yes!"

"Yep!"

"Let's just go already."

"Aw Zel, don't be such a baby."

"I am not!" the sorcerer storms out with everyone following him.
