Telling 2 ~ Fortunes told; Return of the priest!

In the happy town of Testaborne, a line was forming outside of a small shop. A sign stood by the door saying, "Fortune Teller, Miss Metallium. If she can't answer your questions, get your money back."

Inside the shop....

"Oh really? I will become a successful merchant?" a customer asked.

A young lady in a glittering black robe and glasses and the end of her nose, replied, "That is if you want to when you are older."

"Oh cool!” He rose from his seat and threw his arms over his head. Then he smashed them down on the table and looked at the lady with a big smile. “So how much do I owe you?"

"Ask my secretary, Dyrn. Then pay him."

"Okay bye!" he waved bye to her.

She waved back and smiled. "See you tomorrow Joe."

"You’re pretty good at this." The man with the purple hair appeared out of nowhere.

She jumped. "Please use the door next time, Xelloss. It scares the Hell out of me when you pop out like that."

"Sorry, Aeron. I'll try to remember next time. By the way, do you think anyone will come up and ask you a question that you can't answer?" asked the Mazoku priest.

"I doubt it."

The man sits down in the customer's chair and asked again, "How about I make a wager?"

"What kind of wager?"

He popped an eye open. "Say if someone asked you a question which you can't answer, if that happens, you'll start traveling with me again."

"Why do you want me to go with you again?" She tipped her glasses up.

"Well the reason I want you to is..."

"Yes?"

"...A secret!"

She gave him a lowly enthusiastic look then waved him off. "What ever."

"Aeron! Your next customers are coming in!" her secretary called.

"Xelloss, leave before anyone sees you."

"Hai!" As quickly as he came in, he vanished.

Three strangers came in right after he was gone.

Lina yelled passes the doorway. "Zel! Get in here!"

"No."

Aeron grinned under her cloak. "Oh come on Zelgadiss. I knew you were coming so it's all right."

Zelgadiss walked in slowly with his head down. His face was a bit red. Amelia kept turning back and forth at the fortuneteller and her Zelgadiss. "Do you know her Mr. Zelgadiss?"

"Um..."

"We had dated awhile back. But it's not important now. So, how can I help you?" she asked.

"Er, I paid that kid out there enough money for six questions." Lina replied. "You know, without the glasses, the kid out there almost looks like Hellmaster Phibrizzo."

She smiled a sly smile. "You would think that wouldn't you? Anyway, what are your questions?"

Lina took in a big breath and slammed her fists and pointed. "One, what will I do, keep adventuring for the rest of my life or settle down with some nice guy?"

Amelia moved her chair over a little closer to Lina and whispered, "Miss Lina, I thought we were on a quest."

She pushed Amelia back, "Relax Amelia, we have plenty of time."

"Aren't we on a mission for Lordy of whosit?" Gourry asked

"Lord of Nightmares, Gourry, and never mind that for now. Hey fortune girl, what's the answer?" Lina demanded.

"Hmm, let me see my crystal."

"A crystal ball?" Gourry asked.

"No, it's a crystal cube." She said jokingly.

Gourry scratched his head. "Ano, that doesn’t look like a cube." And that statement, earned him a whack on the head from Lina.

Aeron scooted her chair back so not to be hit by the falling Gourry. “Never mind."

The crystal (ball) glowed a bright color of purple and a picture formed of Lina at an older age with a particular tall swordsman. These two figures were traveling through what seemed a forest.

"So, miss Lina Inverse, you'll still travel, but not your entire life. You'll settle down with a man you love dearly."

"Okay," said Lina, "Let see, what will the quest I'm on going to end up as? Will I succeed or lose."

"How do you usually end your adventures?"

Lina took no time to think about this one. She leaned back and folded her arms in a cocky way. "By winning."

Aeron mumbled something but it wasn’t noticed. "That's probably the answer, but my crystal says you'll be accompanied by some new friends and an old traveling member."

"Yosh!" She looked confident, too confident.

"Uh, Lina, could I have a question too?" asked Gourry.

Lina nodded. "Sure thing Gourry."

Gourry leaned on the table and looked seriously at Aeron. She looked seriously back. "Okay miss, will I protect Lina for the rest of my life?"

"Gourry of course not!" said Lina quite too loudly at Gourry and blushed. Then she turned back to the teller, "And don't you think of answering that lady!"

Aeron giggled. "I won't if Gourry Gabriev doesn't want me to. He's the one that asked the question."

“Why, you—” Lina stopped her outburst. "How do you know our names?"

"Well your name isn't unknown around these parts Lina Inverse, and Mrs. Gabriev lives in this town right? She talks about you a lot, Gourry. "

Lina nodded, intelligently. "I see."

"Next question?"

The young princess of Sailoon raised her hand and waved it up wildly. "I have a question!”

“Go ahead.”

“Will Sailoon become a great country if I become queen?"

"The country of Sailoon?" The fortuneteller chanted some words and the crystal rock glowed again. "Sailoon will be a wonderful country with no evil lurking through the shadows of the great people who are ruled under the righteous family of you, Princess."

"Wow, nice way to put it!" Amelia commented, bubbly-like.

"Thank you Miss Amelia wil Tesla Sailoon. Two more, want to ask anything Zel-kun?" She asked sweetly.

"No."

"Sure?"

"Yes."

"Really sure?"

"Mmhm."

"Aw, come on, you must have one little question you've been wondering about almost all your life. A burning question which you've been traveling far and wide for..."

"All right already!"

She smiled, pleased with herself. "Hmm."

He took in a deep breath, "Okay, where is the cure to the curse which is on me?"

"You told me about that curse right? The one that your grandfather Rezo cast upon you?"

A hopeful look ran over his face, "Yeah."

"No clue Zel-kun. Remember, I told you that the last time we met."

"Grr…I forgot…” He banged his head on the table.

"Ah ha!" Xelloss popped out like a poof of smoke.

"AAUUGGHH!!!" everyone screamed and all fell off their chairs.

"I told you to use a door next time!" Aeron shouted as she looked for her glasses.

"Woops, forgot Aeron, sorry. But a deals a deal."

The fortuneteller got up and got into Xelloss’ face. "I didn't agree to the wager Master Xelloss!"

"Yes you did!" Xelloss folded his arms.

"Did not."

"Did too!"

"Did not."

"Whoa, hold it, what's going on?"  Says a confused Lina, still on the floor. She turns to Aeron, "You know Xelloss?"

"Yes, um, he's a friend..."

"More like your master so to say." Says the smiley-face Mazoku, "But about the wager. Zelgadiss here asked you one question you couldn't answer, so now you begin traveling again!"

"I DIDN'T AGREE TO THE WAGER!!"

"Yes, you did!"

She picked up her chair and sat down, "But why do I hafta leave my job?"

"Because I'm your master and I told you so." There was a stare down between the two. Lina and the others watched them. They weren't even blinking. Then Aeron sighed and gave up.

"Hell, have it your damn way. Dyrn, pack the bags! We're closing for a while!" She went out to the waiting room.

"Right!" a voice from outside called and then a poofing sound.

"Lina," Gourry whispered, "Let's ask her to come with us now, it seems like a good time."

Lina contemplated this idea, "I don't know. I'm not even sure she's that fortuneteller we're looking for."

Aeron came back in with a wooden staff with a dragon piece on top and a tiny red jewel, "Sure I'll come."

"...So about my last question." Lina began.

"Hmm?" She placed the crystal ball inside the bag.

"Do you know anywhere where we could find some magical talismans?"

"What kind?"

"Ruby ones." Lina replied.

"I've a friend down South who has some and the King of Zefielia had acquired some just the other day." She left the room again.

"Xelloss, why'd you make a bet with her?" Zelgadiss asked.

"I over heard you were looking for her and I thought it'd be easier for me as well as you."

Aeron came back, "Why? Are you coming?"

"Of course! I thought I might help L-sama with grouping both the amazingly lucky sorceress Lina and the want to be a Mazoku like me when you grow up, you!"

"Master Xelloss!" she screamed and slammed Xelloss into the wall.

He pulled himself up and rubbed his head "Oh, forget everything I said..."

Amelia looked toward Xelloss, "She's a Mazoku too?"

Xelloss didn't smile, "Ah, well, she's only a halfling or a half-Mazoku, half-human."

"Fireball!"

Aeron shot Xelloss back into the wall, destroying the whole building. "Xelloss! You promised you wouldn't tell anyone!”

A charred Xelloss pulled himself up and patted his clothes. “Sorry, I forgot.”

"So can we go to some nice inn to eat and sleep on this?" Lina asked trying to change the subject.

The teller sighed. "There's an inn across the road."

"Okay! Let's go!" Lina pulled Gourry and Zel bye the collar and ran out with Amelia. Aeron and Xelloss argued.
