Metro Comments | ||||||||||||||||
General comments? This is the greatest car that I have ever owned. It still gets 38MPG on average. The suspension is sturdy and quick. The car handles great and corners like a dream. It is quick off the line for a 3 cylinder and is very capable of maintaining 85-100 MPH on the highway (as long as there is no front wind). It has a roomy interior and is capable of seating 5 moderately sized people in comfort. The folding rear seat is great for toting abnormally shaped luggage (such as snow-boards, and bicycles). The little 3 cylinder is the most reliable engine that I have ever seen. I have never had a problem with it starting. Only now, at about 154000 miles, is it starting to show its age. It is starting to lose power and is incapable of running the A/C while parked without stalling the engine. The seating has a very sporty feel. It has the driver sitting low to the ground in a bucket seat. The seat gives great lower-lumbar and great overall support when making sharp turns or quick maneuvers. |

I happened upon this site as I was researching geo metros. My birthday's coming up, and I've been bookmarking used metro convertibles on autotrader.com, hoping my dad gets the hint...) Well, this particular entry caught me off guard because I've heard nothing but good things about these cars until now. My general understanding is that the car will take care of you, provided that you take care of it. Enough said. |

Car has surprised me quite a bit, I has much more power than my previous Metro. It also seems to handle better. I was quite surprised last night when I was coming back from the store a Ford ZX2 pulled up beside me at the redlight reving its engine.. I don't know what I was thinking but I floored the Metro and at first the ZX2 took off about a car lengths space, the next thing I knew the Metro caught its moment and it was on, for the next four miles we were racing head to head at speeds of 85-90mph. Finally, I guess out of embarassment, the other guy turned off. I couldn't believe this little 1.3 engine was running with a 2.0 Zetec, but it was. I have new respect for this car. |

General comments? I love the gas mileage. No other car can compare. My friends are very envious! |

Hey, my girlfriend's 92 Geo Metro does 115 after I got done with it. That little 1.0L 3 cylinder got a turbo and intercooler bolted onto it. Raw power baby! A whopping 80 HP on 2000Lbs. Not too bad. Let's see how long it takes her to tear it apart. |
