SCENE: AMBER’S
BEDROOM
Amber bolts upright in bed, gasping. It appears to all be a dream, but then Amber pushes back the sleeve of her left arm, the one the boy grabbed, to reveal a hand-shaped burn mark.
She hears the TV in the other room and walks down the hallway, catching her breath. She looks in Weeble’s room. The boy isn’t there, but the bed is empty. She walks faster down the hall. Light can be seen through the frosted glass door of the study. She throws it open just in time to see Weeble watching the last few seconds of the tape before the TV goes to static.
AMBER
NO!
Amber lunges forwards and covers Weeble’s eyes, rocking back and forth. She screams, wrenches the tape out of the VCR and throws it under the couch, sobbing.
AMBER
[puts her hands on either side of Weeble’s face]
Why baby, why?! Why?!
WEEBLE
I couldn’t sleep.
Amber hugs Weeble close, sobbing
WEEBLE
Who is he, Amber?
The phone rings. Amber continues to cry. After the phone rings for the third time she runs over, picks it up and hangs it up all in one quick movement. The ringing stops and Amber sighs.
Then the phone rings again. Amber picks it up
AMBER
LEAVE HER ALONE!!
DANNY (on phone)
Amber?
AMBER
[sobs and drops to her knees]
Danny…
DANNY
L-listen to me. A-amber…
Scene switches to Danny, who is driving in the rain, cellphone to his ear.
DANNY
I need to talk to you, okay? I…
[looks at the photos of himself with the blurred faces littering the dashboard]
I believe you.
Cut back to Amber, who is still bawling.
DANNY
Amber, you there?
AMBER
[quiet sobbing]
She… she watched the tape.
DANNY
Who? Who watched it?
AMBER
Our daughter.

SCENE: OUTSIDE BLOOM
HOUSE
Rain pours. Amber walks up to the house and disappears inside
Tuesday
Day 6
Danny remains in the car with Weeble, who is drawing a picture of a house. She looks up at the back of his head.
WEEBLE
You took my picture.
[Danny turns to look at her]
I’ve seen you. When I’m in the yard
at school. You’re there.
DANNY
You wish I was around more?
WEEBLE
No. You wanna be around more?
DANNY
[sighs, looks out the window]
Amber and I were…
WEEBLE
High.
Mom’s told me that story.
DANNY
[looks at her]
The thing is, I… I don’t think I’d
make a good father. Maybe it was
because my own was… something of
a disappointment.
Thing is, I don’t want anyone else to
do it either. Be your father.
WEEBLE
It’s a conundrum.
DANNY
[laughs softly]
Yeah, it is.

SCENE: HUNTER’S ROOM
Amber is flipping through one of Hunter’s notebooks. She studies some of his doodles.
Flies. A camera facing a single chair, like in Amber’s dream. A beached horse with the words “WHY IS THIS IN MY HEAD?” scrawled above it. One circular scribble. The next page is blank.
Amber walks back downstairs and opens Weeble’s car door.
AMBER
Time to go, Missy.
WEEBLE
[continues her drawing, adding a man,
a woman, and a little boy standing in front of the house]
I’m not finished.
Danny said to make one for you.
Amber looks at Danny, who smiles weakly. Amber tries to smile back.

SCENE: HIGHWAY
Danny flies down the highway, Amber seated next to him.
AMBER (V.O)
You could almost draw a line through
his life. On one side there’s this happy
man who spends his time with his twin
sister, riding horses, everything sheltered,
protected and comfortable. His face, there’s…
light, there’s pride.
And then one day something happens, and
he takes a hard corner and the light… goes
out. And then he ends up at Sparkle County
Psychiatric, all alone.
DANNY (V. O)
What happened to him?
AMBER (V.O)
I don’t know yet, but I think it has something to
do with the horses.
DANNY (V.O)
I think we should go to the
AMBER (V. O)
It’s Tuesday, Danny. I only have one day left.
I need you to go to the hospital and find out
as much as you can about Bastian.
Cut to Amber holding her file of notes in her hand, sitting in the car.
AMBER
The images on the tape are leading
us somewhere.
Hunter saw them all too. I think… before you die,
you see the ring.
