We END FLASHBACK, and FADE BACK TO

INT. SANGY'S LIVING ROOM – AFTERNOON

Moog is in the same position as little!Moog was, hands over his head. He lowers them and brings his head back up, sniffing.

MOOGLE
Yeah. So.

SABRINA
She didn't leave you, Moogle.

Moog bites his lip, almost angrily

MOOGLE

Well she was sure as hell gone.

FADE TO: FLASHBACK - Jess asleep in her bed. She's been moved to an institution. We hear little Moog's voice, reading a letter

MOOGLE (V.O.)
Dear Mom, I hope you're having a nice time, wherever

you are. We are being very good, and I can even make

Pro be quiet now, so he won't get on your nerves, I

promise.

CUT TO: ANOTHER PARTY – FLASHBACK

Kids wander around playing, while the adults are all sitting down at tables, talking quietly. We can just barely make out the sound of the kids over Moog's voice-over

MOOGLE (V.O.)
So you can come home any time. I'm sorry if we made you

mad. I miss you so much, and Dad does too.

We cut to one of the tables; the Undahpants are sitting there, along with Tim. Tim looks off in another world; then he comes back to it, says something to Sangy, who sits next to him, and starts to get up. Reb of his kids runs up and talks to him. Tim takes his hand

MOOGLE (V.O.)
Maybe I could come see you, and we could play video games,

just like old times.

Reb bites Tim's hand. We can hear Tim shouting, "Reverb, don't bite!" Reb stops and hugs Tim.

MOOGLE (V.O.)
I love you, and I'll write again tomorrow.

Tim puts the back of his hand to his mouth, breaking into tears. The Undahpants do what they can to console him. Moog walks up and watches him, helplessly

MOOGLE (V.O.)
Yours truly, Moogle.

Tim sits down, burying his face in his hands

Moog chews on his thumbnail

MISTY
It was six months' involuntary commitment, Moog.
And when she got back, we tried to get her to talk

about her breakdown. She refused.

SABRINA
And refuses to this day.

SANGY
Only once, she made me tell her about how I found
her, and Autumn. She was twisted with guilt.

MISTY
Honey, I think the reason she stayed distant is… she

never trusted herself again. She didn't think she deserved

you. Everything else is an act, darlin'.

SABRINA
And those pills. I don't even know what the hell they were.
Half anti-depressant, half hallucinagenic, for all we know.

Nobody knew shit back then.

SANGY
The thing I regret most is that we didn't talk to you, or Pro,

or Reb, or Tim. I guess it was based on some belief that you

don't interfere with other people's kids.

TIM
I wanted to tell you, Moog. A million times. But she made me

swear. She made me swear I would never tell a soul.

Misty puts a hand on Moog's shoulders

MISTY
Speak, darlin'.

MOOGLE
(sniffs once)
oh, I'm just… adding up in my head the… thousands and

thousands of dollars I spent on therapy trying to figure out

what the hell I'd done wrong.

SANGY
Tim…

(looks at him)

Write him a check.

They all laugh weakly. Moog leans over and hugs the nearest person (Sabrina)
