The purpose of this web site is to share the results of subcision and N-Lite for revising acne scarring with others who suffer from similar symptoms. I hope that my efforts will assist others in planning their treatment. Questions or comments are always welcome. E-mail micheal@greatguy.com
A few notes:
I suffered from cystic acne as a teenager. I was successfully treated with one course of Accutane however this was not until after the scars formed. I am now 37 and over the years I have tried collagen injections and a small test area of CO2 laser. As you can see the results of these previous treatments were less than optimal. I am hopeful that subcision combined with N-Lite will work much better.
My plan is to follow up with a second round of treatment in August 2002 if I continue to see improvement as the collagen continues to grow. I have been told that further improvement can be expected for the next 2-3 months.
Lighting can make a big difference in what is seen in the pictures. I have tried hard to duplicate the view of the baseline pictures however subtle lighting differences and shadowing will skew the results slightly.
Everyone should be realistic and understand that subcision doesn't work miracles. Ice pick scarring in particular does not respond well to the treatment. You should also remember that even many super models would not take flattering pictures so close and without makeup.
