Summer 2004:
The body has been put on the frame.
It has definitely taken awhile. but I've finally put the two body sections on the frame. Before I was able to do this, I repaired the holes on the passenger side frame rail, which I worked on over the summer of 2003.
Here is the front and rear tubs placed on the frame. All paint was removed and most rust converted or hidden under rust coating paint (Zero-Rust). I didn't bother to paint those areas I plan on cutting out, such as the lower inner fenders, left here in their nautural state of rust and decay.
Front view. Its a lot easier working on the body pieces when the car is at this level.
My '76 B still fits comfortably under the A. I put wheels on the frame so I can wheel it around the garage to make working on either side easier. My latest addition to the garage sits in front of the B...an 80 gallon 2 stage compressor. A must have. However, wiring the garage for 220 service took longer than expected and slowed progress on the car.
View from the rear. At this point, the boot (trunk) floor has already been replaced. Some finish welding needs to be completed, but the best place to store the rear tub is on the frame. Keeps it safe and out of the way.
