My other MG: 1976 MGB
I do own another MG, a 1976 MGB roadster. I've had this car since 1992 and its been through a lot with me. I have to say it is nice to have an actual running MG to drive while working on the A. The only problem is that I have tended to ignore the '76 since there's so much to do with the A. I do try to drive the '76 as much as I can, and I eventually hope to have some more time to work on a few issues that the car has.

About the car: It has approximately 80K miles and is mechanically in good shape. I've converted to twin SU's, lowered the car to chrome bumper height and added a front sway bar ('76's didn't originally come with this). The body has definitely seen better days, although looks decent at 50 feet. I need new sills on both sides, and probably new front fenders. When I finish the A (if ever), I'll tackle the sills on the B. How much harder than putting together an A can that be?
Here's the back half of the B parked next to the A (when it was still together). I had to stuff these two cars on one side of a two car garage. Plus, I got stuck with keeping all the other misc. garage items on my side also (lawn mower, grill). It was a tight squeeze.
Here is a picture of the engine compartment. I've converted to dual SU's...what a difference! Sorry about the bad paint under the master cylinder. It leaked once and ate the paint off. I painted it with a color I had laying around. One of these days I get around to repainting the engine compartment. I run a solid state fuel pump (the cube type), so that's why there is a fuel pressure regulator.
Here's a picture of me autocrossing in the B. I try to make as many of these events as I can.
My car has been the subject of a couple of Chicagoland MG Club tech sessions. Its a grreat way to learn how to do different things. Here is a picture from the tech session for the front end rebuild.
Here is a picture of my car at the carb conversion tech session. Thanks to Tom Sotomayer for all the help.
