A good time at the strip club, page 2...
Here is the dash, stripped down to bare metal. Luckily, no extra holes have been cut in by DPO's.
Hood. Its about 90% stripped. There is a fair amount of filler aling the front edge, but not too bad. Its a little rippled along this area. I'll remove this filler and apply some new filler. I'm planning on removing any filler that I do come across to avoid compatability problems later on with whatever paint system I use. I'm sure I wouldn't have any problems, but after putting stripper on the filler it softens it up enough where I think it is best if it comes off.
Here is a continuation of the paint removal process...
The next item I decided to tackle was the boot lid. To make it easier to strip and check the fit, I placed it in the opening in the rear tub. This is the boot lid from the original car. I'm a little worried about how much filler or coats of paint are on it.
Good news! Here is the boot lit about 80% stripped. So far I haven't found an once of filler. This has to be the best panel I have so far. To strip, I apply a thick coat of the chemical stripped, wait 15 to 20 minutes and scrape off with the paint scraper. I then use the steel wool to remove the stubborn spots.
