WITH
EVERY THOUGHT OF GOD, I CREATE A PRAYER.
TURN
YOUR EYES UPON JESUS - MIDI
As
a child, I may have been told often to be mindful of my
behavior
and my words. This kind of instruction might have
caused
me to feel unsure or restricted.
There
is another kind of mindfulness, however, that is not
limiting,
for it is through prayer that I open my mind to a
greater
awareness of God.
My
prayer time does not have to be formal or done in a
specific
way. In fact, whenever I am aware of God's presence,
I
make a prayer of that moment.
Whenever
I dedicate my thoughts to Spirit, even the most
mundane
of daily activities becomes an act of communion
with
God. Walking, doing household chores, or simple taking
notice
of my breathing in a quiet moment, I am aware of God.
Then
whatever I do becomes a prayer.
