ONE
WHO IS EARTHY
He
spat on the ground and made mud with the saliva
and
spread the mud on the man's eyes. (John
9:6)
MORNING
HAS BROKEN - MIDI

trees, camels, seeds, birds, salt, flowers...how
many
images of the earth Jesus used to tell the Good News!
He even used mud to heal a blind man's
eyes. Jesus was
close to the earth. He touched its life with reverence and appreciation.
As He prayed on the hillsides and walked along
the sea, He saw deeper messages in the simple gifts of the earth.
What do we see when we look at the world
around
us? Do we ever listen to the
deeper things that the earth
might speak to us? Do we touch the life of the earth with reverence
and gratitude?
Jesus,
You walked upon the earth and touched it with reverence.
Help
me to care well for my world and to learn from it.
