A FATHER'S LOVE
The act of planting a seed
does not a father make,
Love, caring, and sacrifice
are the ingredients it takes.
A man, soft as silk
with his child in his arms,
His heart fills with tenderness
vowing to keep him from harm.
His voice, a gentle breeze
warm like a summer day,
If you could listen to his
heart
this is what he'd say.
My precious son, you are
a gift
wrapped in a blanket of blue,
I didn't know what love was
until I looked at you.
Our eyes locked, two souls
connect
and love began to emerge,
I never knew feelings so
deep
my heart began to surge.
I promise I'll be your strength
from the moment of your birth,
No matter what, I'll be here
during my years on earth
I'll do my best to teach
you
I'll be a loving guide,
We'll set the course together
and I'll be by your side.
I promise not to leave you
I'll create a loving home,
I'll be your lifeline, pave
the way
you'll never struggle alone.
And as you grow into a man
I pray you're tender and
strong,
I'll earn the right to be
a Father
if I do more right than wrong.
