MG Leigh Wade Chapter

This chapter, named after MG Leigh Wade. As a young officer, Wade was chosen to participate in the first attempt of a round-the-world flight by four Douglas "World Cruisers" as pilot of the "Boston". Though his plane was forced down with engine problems, Wade and his copilot later rejoined the flight in Nova Scotia in the "Boston II". The historic flight successfully ended in Seattle having covered 27,000 miles in 175 days. The Leigh Wade Chapter of the Air Force Association is located primarily in the tri-cities area of central Virginia but has members in many other Virginia counties and in other states as well.

The membership of the Leigh Wade Chapter of the Air Force Association is extremely proud of the it's contributions to the Air Force Association and the Aerospace Education Foundation. Members give their time voluntarily to serve on special committees, run special events, and mentor future Air Force Association leaders.

The next Executive Committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, 15 Jul 2009 at 1530 hrs in the Colonial Heights High School Media Center. All members are well to attend.

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEW SLATE OF OFFICERS THAT HAVE STEPPED FORWARD TO KEEP THE LEIGH WADE CHAPTER FLYING HIGH. THESE DEDICATED INDIVIDUALS HAVE PLEDGED TO CONTINUE THE FINE WORK THAT LEIGH WADE HAS BEEN KNOWN FOR IN THE PAST AND TO EXTEND ITS' SERVICE.
