Our apple tree.  Apples are made by coloring an apple, then
adding tissue paper squares to the top.  Finally, brush a glue water
solution over all.  Trace a green handprint for the leaf/stem and add this poem:

This little apple that you see here
Was made just for you my (kindergarten/first grade)year
You'll never find another like it in all this great land
Because for the stem I used my own little hand.

Next week we will be painting fall leaves for the tree. I already
have brown branches under the green top.  When the leaves
are ready I will simply take down the apples and green tree top,
and add the leaves.  The fence will soon be covered with
pumpkins and a scarecrow will be added.

Our apple quilt.  The geometric patch is the TLC quilt patch.  We used
red, green, and yellow.  The other patch is a handprint apple.  I put the
quilt together on the back with masking tape.

Our unit for the first of school has been "All About Me".  We made
these faces from jumbo dye cuts.

Q-tip skeletons we made while studying the skeletal system.
