Introduction
"Teochew Porridge" is a simple story of a son who never understood his father's love until it was too late. Told in a series of flashbacks, the play recounts the growing years of Damien as a boy till his childhood. As he moves on in each stage of his life, the distance bewteen him and his father grows wider. Damien's story is one which many of us, whether as youths or adults, can identify with at some point in our lives.

This play is presented throught actor improvisations in a non naturalistic setting by Drama Inc. The minimalist setup reflects the subtiety, simplicity, and unpretientious nature of a father's love, just like that of Teochew porridge, where the taste of the dishes accompanying the porridge are simply either sweet, salty or spicy and never complicated.
