This is it for now.
If you are concerned that you may have/be at risk for developing an eating disorder, a very good screening test may be found here.
If you are concerned that a friend/relative may be suffering from an eating disorder, look for the following warning signs:
pre-occupation with food/weight
spending more than 3 hours each day thinking about food
planning tomorrow's menu today
secretive eating habits
hoarding food/saving it for later
visits to the bathroom almost immediately following meals
bruised knuckles
cutting food into very tiny bites
excuses like "I don't feel well" "I'm not hungry" "I ate before I came" (used frequently)
chewing food VERY well
significant weight loss in a short period of time
loss of menstrual cycles(in females. this is normal in males)
very dry skin
thinning hair
insomnia
dark circles under eyes
unusually pale
obsessive exercise
idealizing thin celebrities
pointing out flaws in celebrities
depression
self-isolation
mold/mildew around toilet rim, possibly on surrounding walls/shower curtains/cabinets
the list continues, but those are some of the more important/obvious clues
I sincerely hope that this has been helpful, and especially that if you were considering an eating disorder, you read through this (thank you if you did) and changed your mind. (even if you did not change your mind, thank you still for reading and being informed)
