Mission Statement
How often have you told someone with an eating disorder (or if you have one, been told yourself) to just "Eat something"? Well, that is a big reason I created this website. Not enough people realize that eating disorders are much more than just diets or self-control problems. Usually, and ED is an emotional issue- it just happens to be expressed through bad eating habits.
Eating Disorders are based around insecurity, low self-esteem, and result in more than just physical damage. They can destroy a person from the inside out, and even destroy social relationships. Eating disorders are lonely, and usually counter-productive attempts to cope with bigger issues.
Because of my own disorder, I know how lonely and harmful these disorders can be. That is why I created the "pro-ana/mia" section. It does not list "tips and tricks" like other websites. I don't want to tell anyone how to "hide ana" or how to "hide mia" because that's not helpful. What I do list are health tips. How to be as healthy as possible while dealing with something so damaging. By no means do my tips and alternatives mean that your ED will not ultimately kill you.
I encourage all sufferers to get out or seek help as soon as they can.
I also know what it's like not to want to recover. To know that you're slowly killing yourself (and those around you) and just not care, because all that matters is what the scale says each time you step on it.
This is not a pro-ana/mia website. This website is pro-truth. No sugar-coating, and no glorifying the disorders by trying to tell you how best to purge or the best tip to "hiding ana"
If that is the kind of website you seek, then this is not the place for you.
