Andrea's comments  on Kubu Bali October 2003

I stayed three nights at Kubu Bali. Conveniently located in the center of town, the gardens are beautiful and the staff extra friendly, helpful and adorable. There are plenty of stairs to climb up, so if you don’t feel fit enough, request a bungalow in the lower area.

After your fist night they decorate your bed with flower petals and even write you a thank you note the night before you leave.

The dining area for your morning breakfast is located perched on a high area of the mountain allowing you to sip your coffee or tea while you watch the day begin with a seaview. I was also fortunate enough to see a monkey climbing atop a roof in the distance.

There is also a nice swimming pool. Each bungalow has an individual private entrance way usually with a pond in front with different size fishes swimming. A/C, mosquito nets, hot water, a day bed and terrace are features of each room. In the morning and the afternoon a staff offers to give you a massage for 50,000 RH.

The open air bathrooms are quite nice , but the ones that are not are a bit dark.

The only feature I did not like was the access of various insects into the bungalows. Thank God for the geckos and mosquito nets!

During off season I was able to get the room for $35 a night including tax and breakfast.
