Life, What’s your Point?
I can’t get by the pointlessness
It gnaws at me
Has its paws in me
And leads me to brood
Contradicts my mood
I see it lurking always
At the edge of things
As an ultimate conclusion
Making my life only my life
And the universe an illusion
Just an apt description
Of the things in the room
While part of a sequence
One huge virus
It only always growing
It only always knowing
Its purpose and meaning
Duping us, using us
Giving us an awareness
A tiny chunk, a brief glance
Before a cowering dance
To our death
So I am a threat
What will it do with me
How will it portray my art
My song, my part
My miserable performance
How will my miserable heart
Ever find peace
Oh life,
What are you?
Why must I depart,
Knowing there is more?
Yet you shall continue
Move on and evolve
While I must dissolve
Nothing now, nor before
Nothing answered nor in store
For me. Yes me!
For us. That we all could see
A point.
