On the Path at Night

I walk with lustrous Jupiter
who watches from afar
and glows with borrowed radiance
that outshines every star.

I take the darkness, like a cloak,
to shield my wandering form
from prying eyes. Yet still I need
the light to fend alarm.

In stillness and in solitude
I choose to make my way,
and contemplate the bittersweet
of my terrestrial stay.

The ache that's taken residence
within my weary soul
can still make room for such delights,
as Jupiter, and you.
