I am Honored

Korea was a war in all ways but in name,

To die for an inch of dirt was truly insane.

Young men went, sons, brothers and friends;

Many a thousand, our country would send.

News was heard, “North Korea crosses the 38th Parallel,”

For those that remember, it would always be hell.

Young men fighting to keep communists at bay,

By wars end many an American would forever stay.

Those who fought, their hearts filled with pride,

For they still remember their friends that died.

They remember the attacks, they came wave after wave,

They fought hand to hand, many were sent to their grave.

From Pusan to Heart Break Ridge, they took their toll,

Veterans now honored by “The Endless Patrol.”

I’ve been to Korea, years since past,

The sacrifices they made will forever last.
