Headlines and Signs

A while back I started capturing shots of signs and newspaper headlines that seemed out of the ordinary.

It was my second month in Africa when this headline appeared on the side of the road

Safety was one of my main concerns while working in South Africa....and with good reason...........at one point in time, the hospitals came right out and said that there were too many gunshot wounds for them to handle.  A major crime is committed in South Africa every 10 seconds.

Is this PC?

I made the mistake of reading this news story.  South African news writers never hold back the details.

Another classic for obvious reasons.  Nothing like hitting an elephant on your way to work!  And yes, we did see them in the middle of the road while in Zimbabwe.  One night on our way home from town, the locals were running around banging pots and pans because an elephant had wandered into downtown Victoria Falls and was destroying everything in its path!

We ran into this sign on our way from Dublin to Kilkenny.
