Manila, Philippines
It wasn't the most direct route to Manila, but for half the price I was able to fly Singapore Air and stay the night in Clark Quay, Singapore (Pictured to the left).
The Philippine Jeepney (Pictured to the Right) - military vehicle transformed into a taxi.  Designed to seat 8, however rush-hour pushes this limit to 20!  In some areas, it is common to find locals riding on the roof when seats inside the vehicle become full.
My friend Bee (Pictured to the right) helped me experience Philippine culture Philippino Style.  Bee manages the bar at Makati City's TGI Fridays.  We arrived at the club just in time for the band to start playing.  As we took our seat, both the lead singer and myself realized that I was the only American present.   The lead singer of the band picked up the Mic and said "We have a very special guest singer tonight from the USA"  everyone including myself started clapping, and then the people sitting near by started pushing me up on stage.  I had to dance while singing "Killing Me Softly" before being allowed to take my seat again. Fortunately, the lead singer of the band was there to whisper the words to the song in my ear. Bee later told me that this is a tradition for welcoming new people to town.  The manager later gave me a drink on the house.
Out of all the people I've worked with around the world, the Filipinos take first place for being the most welcoming and friendly people I have ever had the pleasure of working with.
