Please visit my new blog devoted to generating fan interest in both "Fright Night" films. I recently had the pleasure of meeting most of the cast of the original and Tom Holland. Holland really wants to create a 'special edition' DVD for the original (supposedly, there would be enough content for a box set for just the first film!), but needs help from us fans to convince Sony that such a project would be profitable.
Sony also wants to remake the film, but since Holland holds the rights to the story and the characters, nothing can happen without his approval (he's turned down three scripts, already). Holland is in favor of doing another sequel, but again, this will take a lot of convincing to make Sony go through with it.
Also, Tommy Lee Wallace is trying to negotiate for a DVD reissue of "Fright Night, Part 2," in widescreen and perhaps a special edition. Well, if you're familiar with the Artisan DVD, nearly anything could be an improvement over that release!
