We took the kids to minnesota this past week for a mini vacation. We left early Tuesday morning and arrived 10 LONG hours later. How exactly is it that 3 kids add 3 hours onto a trip?? Emily HATED it and would only be appeased by Twizzlers. Bad mamma! But hey, it WORKED!
Wednesday we took the kids to Mall of America. Ive been wanting to bring Cameron to Lego Land for ages now, and neither of them believed me when I told them there was a mall with a roller coaster INSIDE! They were both amazed and had a great time. Jane and Cameron had thier first (and I suspect thier LAST) roller coaster ride. Cameron had a blast in Lego Land, building and racing lego cars.
After the mall, we went to the sculpture garden in minneapolis. We got some great pictures there, most notably, one of the five of us in front of a transparent mirror. The picture looks like we're all ghosts. Very cool.
Wednesday night we went to visit with Bob's Uncle Craig&Family. It was so great to visit with them, since we see them so rarely. Unfortunantly, we FORGOT to take pictures there. Im so mad at myself.
Thursday morning, we were on the road again. Although this time, only for about 2 hours. We took a detour to Wisconsin to meet some friends of mine. Kat and I have been chat-friends for 4 years now and it was so awsome to finally meet her! Everyone got along great and the kids had a blast. We had lunch there and then we headed home. The ride home was not nearly as bad as Tuesday. After being SO busy, the kids slept much of the time.
As great as it was, Im quite sure that it will be a LONG time before we attempt another trip like that with 3 kids! |
