CALENDAR. If any one
would like to volunteer please contact me at 713-534-5767.
January---- the George Thomas " Mickey" Leland Library
and Museum of
African History, Culture and Social Change in concert with Black
United
Fund of Texas will host 12 men and women ( ages 25-48) from
Nairobi,
Kenya. We
are looking for host families, because they would like to
experience living with a Black family in America. Also we will
re-enact
a Kwanzaa celebration for their pleasure and understanding,
everyone is
welcome to help out. Also we will travel to Austin and Dallas.(a
1 day
event in each city) We will need help in both places. Maybe a
reception
or a get together to meet and greet everyone. After they arrive
the stay
will be for a month in America. It is so hard getting permission
to
visit America out of Africa, sometimes, so they will make the
best of
it. I need all board members and advisory council to help
with a
welcome reception in Houston, Austin and Dallas. This has been
very hard
pulling off this time do to government back-log and whatever.
Thank You.

with
Media concerns and ideas for better programming. TV plays a very
important role in the lives of our children, like it or not and
we must
stop the sex and violence. Children have to much access to this
vehicle, therefore, we must do something.
