JEDI VALOR |
11-29-04: There are roughly six months left until the 2005 Star Wars Fan Film Awards. The Computer Effects are just now starting into the animation phase after 3 months of modeling. The plan is for 103 full CG shots, 7 complete CG sets and 2 full CG Ext. locations. With the live action still waiting to be shot it's going to become a hectic assemble near the end. |

Blender Work Space |
12-15-04: Theed palace (see picture below) is (for the moment) finished. All though it is for only one, 3 second shot, it took a tremendous amount of tweak and render time. The final massive technical leap (before compositing becomes a headache) is the animation and rendering of Jedi Valor's saber wielding bad-guy (think mummy or zombie). There will be more on this guy sometime next year when I have more glamourus pictures to post than the current texture and lighting tests. I promise that he will raise the "oh cool" factor by x10. P.S. Current expences (including software) $3.00 for dowel rods to rehearse the fight scene. Links to Blender and Gimp's websites will be up soon. I suggest, if your interested in no-budget video effects, you should become very familiar with these programs, as you can see the quality that they provide free of charge. |

A quick first render of the villan with a crude cloak and saber for effect. |
12-21-04: Deadline inches closer, animation hasn't started due to issues with software and some last minute tweaks on the models. With the resent update to Blender 2.35 I'm hoping to put those peoblems behind me and punch out the "Broken Moon" sequence. You'll hear more on that later ;) The first models of the villan where done sooner than I antisipated, though the model has no IK chain built in yet, so I can't animate him at the moment. I am thrilled with the results of the first renders, this is the first human figure I've ever attempted in 3D. I suspect after this I will be making a lot more, and with more skill as I go. For now he only has to fill the roll of stunt double for this guys supernatural tricks. (check out the photo below.) |

A Bust of The Villan. |
2-28-05: ONE SMALL PROBLEM! Dramatic work is NOT accepted for the fan film awards. The project has been set aside to make way for other things of which I will be less bitter about. (I will be seeing Episode III opening day, despite my illcontempt.) Anyway, enjoy the 3D work, it may actually be in motion one day. |
