Introducing the Tiny Internet Network Interface

horizontal line

The Tiny Internet Network Interface is a small, embedded system designed to run Java applications and interface between external hardware and a network. Machinery and the network have, historically, remained largely separate entities. Embedded processors have communicated within local limits to control lighting, heating and cooling units, doors, refrigerators, toasters, etc. Bridging the gap to allow machinery to talk to the larger network requires a specialized data language and improved processing capabilities, without making the bridge too big or too expensive. TINI is the bridge that executes Java and speaks TCP/IP.

Nearly any piece of electrical equipment can be Web-enabled with the Model 390 TINI board. TINI technology allows quick and easy development of Java applications to provide an Internet or intranet interface for equipment. TINI can then act as the world's smallest Web server. The convenience of small size (1.25 x 4.05-inch and less than 1 cubic inch displacement) ..means the TINI interface can fit almost anywhere.

Some of TINI's features include the following
