The Mid-Michigan Bears is a social club aimed at furthering the BEAR culture within the gay community. The Club was founded in 1994 and has been growling ever since. Most of us make our home in Michigan; however, we have members nationwide.

What is a BEAR? We like to say a BEAR is a furry, fun-loving gay male with a sense of comfort with his natural masculinity and body that is not slavish to the vogues of male attractiveness that is so common in gay circles and the culture at large.

The Club is involved in a number of different activities. We have social gatherings at several Michigan Night spots, including many out-of-town Nightclubs. Some of our trips include Kalamazoo, Grand Rapids, Jackson, Lansing, Pontiac, Port Huron and even Toledo, Ohio. We will be at a venue near you sometime soon. We hope to see you there.

We also have an annual camping trip, Bears In The Woods, which takes place sometime in July. And this year, we plan to host our first national run right here in Flint, Michigan. Be sure to take a look at the upcoming events link below.

As an added benefit, we are able to donate money to charities. We have set up the Mid-Michigan Bears Children with AIDS Fund, and we also donate to Hurley Medical Center's Children with AIDS.
