Gohan is the first son of Goku and ChiChi. Although he does not share his father's love of fighting, he would do anything for his family and friends. His hidden power was first released against Raditz. Hearing his father's cries of pain, he could not bear it and escaped from Raditz's spacepod and attacked him in the stomach. He was trained by Piccolo and learned to fight just in time for Vegeta and Nappa's arrival. At first he was scared, but after Piccolo's death, he summoned the courage to fight.
He accompanied Krillin and Bulma to Namek to gather their Dragonballs to wish back their friends that they lost against Vegeta and Nappa. They later found themselves fighting Frieza's henchmen, the Ginyu Force and Frieza himself. Gohan's power was once again unleashed after Krillin was struck my one of Frieza's horns and sunk to the bottom of a lake to death, although he was healed by Dende before he died.
Gohan later turned Super Saiyan in the Hyperbolic Time Chamber with the help of his father, Goku. And after his father gave up in the fight with Cell, Gohan took the reins and defeated Cell, only after his father died a second time. 7 years later, at the age of 18, he entered high school and met Videl, the daughter of Hercule, who later would get married to him and bear his daughter, Pan. Gohan went to the Supreme Kai's planet after almost dying at the hands of Majin Buu. His power was augmented and he fought Majin Buu as what was called Mystic Gohan. He definitely had the edge over Majin Buu until he was absorbed.
