My Grandpa's Life
By: Anonymous
His time passes into eternity
Always staring at the doors of judgment
Who remembers his lasting legacy
The sacrifices he made, love he sent
For his family he toiled the fields
Implanting the seeds and plowing the ground
His scrapes and bruises paid for each yield
But the man never complained, not one sound
Then as a fisherman, he live months on boat
Always thing about the folks he cared
The children missed him and wanted him home
He was never around yet always there
Now who could forget his heart of pure gold
He can rest now; his story is told
