Lost Winters
By: Janice C.
Specks of soft white snow, gently falling down.
Overjoyed children all bundled up warm,
building snowmen with smiles, not those sad frowns.
Snow angels made with frantic waving arms.
Specks of colors climbing up the steep hill,
down comes competitive children racing.
Stomping feet, rubbing hands try to ward the chills.
Fierce snowballs thrown, many faces mocking.
Children trudge home, leaving muddy footprints.
The dark Winter night falls, barren trees sway
to echoed laughter of them eating mints.
Heavy falling snow covers the pathway.
Memories left behind, only as a
reminder of a love that passed away.
