Minnesota's North Shore is midwest creek-boater's heaven (at least for a few weeks in April to May). In 150 miles from Duluth to the Canadian border there are close to 30 rivers with real potential for whitewater runs. On average, that's one every 5 miles! Most of the runs are fairly short, as the rivers drop 100-200 fpm and more in their final few miles to meet Lake Superior. You can do multiple runs in a day (though on some of these, you'll be exhausted and overwhelmed after just one).
