I was so happy and can't say anything when Michael said that he wanted to go to Ujungkulon, the place that I wanted to go since a long time ago. We left in the morning, arranged by one of travel agent in Jakarta. Not easy to traveled to Ujungkulon, because the road was so bad. We stopped for lunch at a small warung around the village at Labuan which was offer very good meals. We had nasi putih + ikan goreng (very fresh) + balado cumi-cumi + sambal terasi + sayur asem + kerupuk..oh.. what a delicious meal. After that, we continued our trip...geeee...... seems forever on the bad road. After more than 6 hours on the road, finally we entered small village called Sumur. Then, we hordes of ojek (motorcycle taxi) to a small village called Tamanjaya. The road was very bad, it causes sores around my butt and waist, very unpleasant!! After more than an hour, we arrived Pulau Peucang, and we stopped to the small guesthouse which was as our home at that night, called Wisma Wisata Alam. Very small village, far away from modern life, seems like living in this country 100 years ago.. I was learn so much through this experienced, facing the reality that people in the small village like this wasn't contamined by polutions of city yet. They were kind and very traditional to served us as their guests. The sky was very red because of the beautiful sunset, how wonderful my country is. When I was ready for a bath, unfortunately there's only one toilet, so we had to wait, because among us, there were some German's teens who stayed in this guesthouse also. The host always filled the backet inside the toilet after one by one finished their bath. The water that we used for a bath was dirty, I feel sad to realized that people who lived in a big and modern city like me which is always have clean water everyday, like to wasted it; but in here, far away from noisy and busy life, they had to live with this such of things. Night came, we walked on the sand beach while talking and laughing. Very beautiful and so quite. Millions of stars on the sky, waves sound, cricetts singing, gorgeous!!! After dinner which was serve by the guesthouse, we went to a sleep, and had to leave early in the morning to the main body of the Park. After a cup of kopi tubruk, we accrossed the ocean by small fishing boat that had navigator a young boy (about 10 years old age). His uncle owned this fishing boat, and that young boy who's not finished his elementary school, because his family had no money to afford, had to worked to help the family. What a such beautiful white-sand beaches in front of our eyes when we arrived the gateway of the main body of the Park. Woow....so white, smooth, and sparkling. Birds singing welcomed us walked through the Wisma Wahanawisata, the place where we stayed. Very pretty place. We saw groups of monkey and deer were laying down while watching us. After unpacked, we explored the area by walking. There are observation towers, where we can watched the wildlife without scaring them. We saw also deers, wild pigs, birds, big bats, banteng ox, bee-eaters, and many more. Ujungkulon's most famous inhabitant was Javan rhinoceros, but unfortunately we've not seen one, either the guides who have worked here for years. We also visited Sungai Cigenter, the feeding centre which there's a rough walking trail all the way round the coast. When noon come, we went back to the wisma for a lunch. After lunch, we acrossed the ocean by a small boat for a jungle trip. We walked through the grassy fields in the jungle which had lots of old and rare trees & fruits. Michael asked the guide (who was required by Park law for anyone entering Ujungkulon) to cut the thick roots which was hanging (on the movie, Tarzan used this root as a robe to jumped into another trees) called Liana, and we sip the clear water from inside the root..... so fresh and cold. Wish we came back again someday. The ocean water so clear, so we can see coral reef, fishes (including fish that had blue skin), snake, small rays, turtles, uni, and many more. Michael had a chance to see sizeable lizard, but not me.....gosh...... GOD, how beautiful, especially because we had a chance to see sunset from here. We came back to the wisma in the evening. After took a shower and had a romantic dinner, we walked along the white-sand beaches while talking about our dream and future. We woke up in the morning, had a cup of kopi tubruk, and start to packed as we had to checking-out from the wisma and go back to the real life. Jakarta, I'm comiiiiing.....:-)). |
