Making your ritual area magical |
PAINT IT - Use natural, earthy colours; colours which put you in a magical mood ie NO neons (no matter how much you love fluerescent pink; I don't think it creates a magical atmosphere) - Paint a mural connected with paganism or have fun with stencils....sun,moon,stars (Go on I know you want to :P) CLEAR CLUTTER - Yup, clear the clutter/mess from your room.It doesn't create a magickal atmosphere, trust me I know. Afterwards you could burn smudgesticks to cleanse the area. FURNITURE - existing furniture needs looking after. If you don't like the look of your furniture. cover it! You can get some gorgeous throws nowadays, some which are very 'pagany'. Wooden furniture is always nice tho. MAKE THE MOST OF FEATURES - If you're like me and have a fireplace in your room?! (Oh well it might just be me then) make the most of it. I used to try and cover it but now I decorate it with candles etc and it also becomes my Sabbat altar. ALTAR - Put your altar on display (if you've not got serious anti-pagan parents), decorate it how you want. Also you could decorate with artwork. ACCESSORISE - Buy windchimes, candle-holders, garlands, little witchy figures, anything that will give it a 'pagany' feel. Burn incense, make/buy potpurri etc. BOOKS - Have books on display - decorate bookshelf with tealights (in holders of course) shells. PLANTS - Buy a selection of plants or even herbs. Place them around your room. Don't forget to water them! And finally.......... USE IT! |
