Welcome to Brawner's Bluff. I'm Mike Brawner and my wife is Lina. Our website contains information on our family genealogy and our family events. Hope you enjoy.... We plan to include stories and news about our family, our family photos, family history, and anything else we feel should be shared. Anyway a little more about us. Lina and I were both born and raised in Texas. I have been married to Lina since 1975 and we have one son, Michael Shayne. Shayne is 28 years old. We live in Burleson, Texas which is a medium size community of 25,000 just south of Ft.Worth in Johnson County and yes the rumors are true it can get really hot here during the summer. Most of our immediate family also lives in this area. I work in the engineering field and Lina is an aerobic instructor at our local community center. Lina also works at a local jewelers as a salesperson. We enjoy traveling, the great outdoors, and spending time with our family and friends.

Our Hobbies:

Golf, fishing, camping, and traveling are some of the activities we enjoy the most. I'm very active as an amateur genealogist and I have included some of our family history on this site. I have written several books on Lina's and my family history. I'm an average golfer and have a handicap around +12. I try to keep my score in the mid 80's. Several of the guys at work play so we try to get together a couple of times each month.We spend most of our free time during the spring and summer to fishing and camping. I go to the Brazos River during the spring to get in on the yearly sandbass run and we go to Lake Whitney during the summer just to relax and unwind. Whitney is about 45 minutes from here. Several years ago my grandfather had a lake house there so we spent alot of time there while we were growing up. We also love to travel and try to take one long vacation every year. Some of our trips have taken us to the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, the Grand Tetons, Carlsbad Caverns, Pikes Peak, Royal Gorge, Big Bend Country, Mt. Rushmore, Hot Springs,and Rocky Mountain National Park. Most of the time we just hit the road to see where it takes us. We like to put on the backpacks and hike into the back country to get a real feel for the tranquil settings of these places. We took the photo at the top of this page at the Grand Teton National Park. I will never forget that view. We also love to shop for antiques. My other hobby is taking photographs. Lina's hobby is collecting cats. She collects ceramics, pictures,and plates. If it has anything to do with cats Lina would be very interested.

Our Family:

Most of you know how proud we are of our family. Our son Shayne and our Grandson Gavin live in Burleson across town from us. Gavin just turned 5 years old and attends school here.
