Chapter 7

Jared sat with Justin on the porch, wondering why the boy had suddenly become tight lipped about, well everything.

He had tried to bring up JC as a last resort, hoping to get an amused little grin he had so many of but all he got was the same blank stare in his eyes.

Then he pieced things together and thought, maybe, just maybe, this had something to do with JC and staying the night. Maybe JC rejected him again and he was tired of it? Probably, JC, he knew from past experience, was a stubborn fucker.

"Look, I think..." he paused and looked at Justin who had since turned his bored eyes toward him. "I think you should just forget about JC. It's not like you love him or anything so, ya know. Go out, meet another dude."

That aroused a small smile and Jared smiled because he had made progress.

"Yeah." his voice was eerily low, like he had a voice of another. "You're right." Jared eyed him and noticed his smile was weird and suddenly felt bad, for no reason. Had he said something?

"I didn't mean to-"

"You didn't do anything. I think I'm just tired." Justin explained and Jared nodded, suddenly feeling out of place. He felt as if he were a stranger to this man, yet they were good friends.

"I should get going." he said and stood up, smiling softly at Jared before walking along the stone walkway.

Jared watched him leave and raised an eyebrow, reminding himself to find out what was going on.

Justin dialed the familiar number and scratched his scalp as it rang.

"Hey! You've reached Jared and JC, we're busy now so leave a message if you'd like." he heard it say and Justin sighed.

"Uh, hey. JC? Well, I.. Yeah, I think we need to talk. About some stuff... So call me back, thanks. Justin." He ended the call quickly and sighed again, wondering when the wrenching feeling in his stomach would go away.

* * * * *

JC walked up the pretty stone walkway to Justin's house, biting on his lip, trying to think of good reasons and things to say. He knew it would be more than awkward to explain why he left the way he did.

He knew, now, that the reason he left was because he wasn't supposed to like Justin. Well, at least like he did. They were supposed to be friends, and that's it. Not fuck buddies, or lovers, although he silently wished they could. Justin didn't want that though. JC knew the younger man didn't want it.

He raised his hand as he stood in front of the large oak door, his knuckles a second away from the door before he paused.

What if Justin wasn't home? He looked at the driveway, groaning as he saw the various rows of Justin's cars.

He pulled his hand back to knock again but stopped.

What if Justin didn't want to talk? What if he wanted to...

"Ugh!" JC moaned and knocked loudly three times before he could lose his nerves to his overanalyzing mind.

There were quite a few thuds, slow and loud before the locks on the doors rattled and Justin stood before him with half hooded eyes.

"You were sleeping?" JC blushed and looked down, cursing as he realized Justin had nothing but boxer briefs on. His head snapped up, but his cheeks stayed pink.

Justin shook his head, stepping aside letting JC stroll through. "I, you should have called."

JC turned around quick, his eyes alert. "Oh shit, are you like, busy?"

Justin smiled and closed the door, leaning against it. "No, I just would have been more awake, ya know."

JC nodded and looked around, rocking on the balls of his feet. He didn't want to go first, he had no idea what he was going to say.

"That night..." JC blushed and Justin smirked. "Yes, JC. We had sex that night." Justin chuckled and JC rolled his eyes playfully. Justin turned serious again, though. "About that.. That night.. I-"

"It didn't mean anything to you, though, right?" JC interrupted and suddenly wanted the floor boards to swallow him because he had just been thinking and it slipped.

Justin's face was a mix of 2 somethings that JC wanted to figure out but didn't know where to start.

"Oh, well..." And Justin was studying him in a way that made JC uneasy because those eyes were clouded and they weren't the regular ‘Justin' happy, sexy, teasing eyes he was used to. "I mean, I... for you?"

JC looked down. Maybe now would be the right time to profess his feelings for Justin, but maybe they weren't. He had already told Justin he didn't want to be with the man, and now if he told them the man would think he was a straight up liar, even though he was.

"No." Justin said, slicing through JC's inner battle.

"No?"

"No." Justin smiled slightly and the sight was beautiful because his eyes were light again. "No, it wasn't just sex to me. No, it wasn't a one time thing and no, I don't want it to be just a one night thing. I... " he looked away and blushed and JC stood shocked. "Ya know, I want you to feel bad, and I wanna be pissed at you because you totally left me there that morning and I." he looked at JC with a stern eye. "I felt like, a whore kinda, and I know you didn't mean it like that but, that's what it felt like and I... Ha, to tell you the truth that's kinda when I figured you were um more than, well what I wanted you to be."

JC furrowed his brows and Justin scratched his nose. "Shit, I mean... ok, alright. I knew I liked you before, but I didn't want to be in like... love with you, at least not yet because ya know, you were all about rejecting me and that was fine cause ya know, I knew I'd get you sometime or another but... but I didn't want to get all lovey dovey for me and then it not be that serious." His face was suddenly gray and JC wanted to ask what had happened. "I thought you felt the same way, I thought, cause ya know Jared and all but hell! Who can trust Jared, right?" he ended with a nervous laugh and JC was confused. What? Who said he didn't have feelings for Justin?

You dumbass, he thought to himself and JC narrowed his brow. What? "What?"

Justin sighed and ran a hand through his curls, cursing as he had to sift through a tangle. "I guess, I... I didn't take your ‘no's as seriously as I should have, right? But, look, dude. I'ma lay off now, just ‘cause, ya kno-"

"No!"

Justin stopped and furrowed his brow, his forehead creasing. "Um, no?"

JC let out a quick uneasy laugh. "No, I don't want you to lay off."

"Why?" Justin crossed his arms. Confused, much?

"Because," he put a hand to his forehead and chuckled again. "Ah, this is confusing."

Justin chuckled and bit at his lip. JC wanted to tell him to stop. He thought that was what had started the night in the first place.

"Um, when Jared told you about... me, what did he say?"

Justin shifted and brought his arms down, rolling his shoulders casually. "That you were bitter about the break up and that you had feelings for me, basically." JC nodded slowly and started wringing his hands together. "Well, uh..."

"Is that true?"

"Um, well..."

Justin laughed. "Stop with the ‘well's!"

JC chuckled but then shook it off. "Ok, ok. I,.. Yes. It is true. I was bitter-"

"Was or am?"

JC narrowed his eyes. "I thought we were talking about my feelings for you."

Justin's eyebrows raised. "So you do have feelings for me?"

"Huh?"

Justin shook his head. "Wait, just tell me if you have feelings for me. Like right this instant."

JC looked up with nervous eyes. "Uh-"

"No, don't start the ‘Uh, well' alright. Yes or no."

JC chuckled. "Yes."

Justin let his jaw drop and then leaned in. "Hold on, can you repeat that for me? I thought you said yes, but that couldn't be right? Because you're still the JC who has refused me since day one."

"Shut up, you dork." And his smile was huge and he felt light and free and suddenly brighter because Justin felt the same way... right? "You feel the same, right?"

Justin smiled and leaned close, agreeing with a kiss, his hands coming up to hold JC's cheeks, his lips moving slowly against JC's. JC felt his arms wrap around the younger man, bringing him closer.

Justin opened his mouth, urging the brunette to do so also and when he obliged, let his tongue dive in, tasting the older man.

Justin pulled back and JC's eyes fluttered open, his eyes heavy.

"Are you sure?" was the first thing out of Justin's mouth and JC hushed him with another kiss that lead them straight to Justin's master bedroom.

* * * * *

JC gripped the headboard, twisting his hips upwards as Justin groaned from above him.

"Shit." the blonde growled and leaned down to give JC a messy kiss, panting into his lover's mouth.

JC tightened his legs around Justin's waist, squeezing as he felt Justin's hands scalding him when they ran over his body.

"Shit, JC." Justin repeated and trailed his sloppy kisses down the brunette's jaw and neck, stopping at his shoulder. He nipped lightly at the tender skin as he pressed deeper. "Fuck."

JC shut his eyes tightly, gripping the wood beneath his hands for all it was worth. "I'm coming." he breathed and then growled, pulling Justin down for a nasty kiss as he came.

Justin thrust a few more times before he melted and slumped onto JC. "Damn." he panted also and rolled off of the older man, sighing as JC threw an arm over his stomach.

"That was great."

Justin grinned haphazardly, his eyelids too heavy to try and open. "I know."

JC chuckled lightly before taking in a deep breath. "Cocky, much."

Justin turned his head and grinned, still not opening his eyes.

Minutes later, when he did, JC, with his goofy smile and his bright eyes, were the first thing he saw. It made his insides stir.

JC leaned over and wiped the matted hair off of the blonde's brow, kissing it slightly, before kissing his nose, and cheeks and finally his lips, softly, tenderly.

Justin scooted over, scooping the man in his arms, resting his head in the crook of the other's neck, his nose rubbing against a sharp bone.

"I've loved you forever..." he sang and JC laughed softly before sighing.

"In lifetimes before..."

Justin fell asleep to JC's voice that night, and the next night, and the night after that.

THE END!
