Soul Mates

The young blonde was walking down the street with his crew, laughing.

The other man was striding, his large coat swaying along with him, the small silver cell phone pressed to his ear.

They passed each other and caught the other's eye. The blonde was captured in those ice eyes, the brunette looking stunned as well.

Time slowed as they came closer and closer until they were both behind each other. The man with the phone craned his neck to see, while the other turned completely around, desperate to keep the intense gaze.

Then, so quickly the blonde actually stumbled, the brunette looked away, shattering the heavy stare.

As he blinked rapidly, no longer looking at the blue eyed brunette, he turned forward, a shiver running up his back.

-- -- -- -- -- -- -- --

"Justin, where have you been?" His mother asked that every time he stepped through the front door.

"Nowhere." Same answer, too.

He bounded up the stairs to his room, deftly locking the door behind him. He shrugged out of his shirt, scratching at his chest while flipping through CDs. Choosing R Kelly , he popped it in and let it play.

He lie down, his back rest against his made bed. His eyes closed slowly, and the striking crystal eyed man showed behind his eyelids.

Justin could make him out perfectly. Brown, gelled wavy hair. Beautiful face, sculptured cheek bones, cute mouth.

Crystal blue eyes.

He shuddered and took a deep breath. His eyes opened and he looked over to the window for whatever reason and gasped as he saw a bag of bud sitting carelessly on the window sill.

"Shit." he cursed softly as he got up, taking his sweet time.

As he took the baggie and stuffed it into a nearby drawer, his attention was caught by the moon. It was bright, almost too bright.

Suddenly something tapped against his window and he jumped back slightly. The second time it happened he stepped closer, quick to see who was messing with him.

What he saw made his chest tight. The dark haired man stood in his dark clothes in Justin's back yard.

Justin opened the window easily. "What the fuck do you think you're doing?" he whispered as loud as he could. The man down beneath shrugged and Justin sighed. "How the hell did you find me?"

The man shrugged again and Justin left the window only to come back, this time with a large sweatshirt on.

He climbed out of his window, jumping off his roof easily. He had done this many times before, and it showed.

They stood face to face for a long time, then the brunette nodded to his car.

"How did you find me?" Justin persisted but followed the man anyway.

"I don't know." He looked up to see Justin's skeptical eyes. "No, no really. I was just driving around, doing nothing and I saw you walk into your house."

Justin stopped and then narrowed his eyes. "Hold up, motherfucker. I'm not gonn' get in that car with a psycho."

The brunette rubbed a hand over his face. "Look, I... Ya know what? I have no idea why I was driving in your neighborhood. I don't why I'm standing here with you, someone I don't even know... All I know is that I am. For whatever reason, I am standing here with you, with crazy butterflies in my stomach. Ever since I saw you this afternoon." he confessed and Justin was rendered speechless. That's what he was feeling, too.

He started walking towards the nice BMW silently, taking a seat in it carefully. He had been in BMWs before but this one was beautiful. The other man walked around the car and slid into his seat.

"What's your name anyway?" Justin didn't dare look up because he knew, in the back of his mind, that he wouldn't be able to look away.

"Josh." The man's voice was soothing. "Yours?"

Justin looked up then and sighed because he was caught in those blue eyes once again. "Justin." he whispered.

The car started a second later and the couple was off.

-- -- -- -- -- -- --

"Where do you work?" Justin guessed it was somewhere expensive, noting the exclusive car, the bright watch, and then fancy looking phone.

Josh put on his blinker. "M&N." he said and then looked at Justin. "Meyer and Nichols. It's an architectural office."

Justin turned towards him. "You an architect?"

Josh turned his head also, and gave Justin his first smile of the night. "Yeah, ever heard of the ‘Phason Tower'?" he asked and Justin nodded. He'd seen it once or twice. "Yeah." he continued. "I did that." and Justin nodded again. "Where do you work?"

"Record store. Wherehouse music."

The car was silent again until Justin told Josh to turn into the park.

10 minutes later they were huddled together on the tire swing. It was chilly and Justin put his hands between their tangled legs.

"Do you believe in fate?" Josh's voice was quiet.

Justin shook his head, then nodded because he didn't know anymore.

Josh leaned in and forced Justin look at him. The younger man did so and leaned forward until their lips were but a centimeter away.

"I think I do." Josh mumbled, his lips brushing Justin's.

The blonde breathed deeply before pressing his lips against Josh's. The sweep of soft lips made Justin tremble.

Their kiss felt old, as if they had done this many times before. As if they were old lovers rejoined yet again.

Josh's warm hands cupped Justin's pink cheeks, his own face moving, their noses bumping against one another.

Josh was the one who pulled back, his lips still tingling.

Justin's hands worked their way into Josh's coat, his arms coming to wrap around the brunette's slim waist.

Josh brought the coat around both of them, closing his eyes as he felt those soft lips kiss his ear.

-- -- -- -- -- -- --

His alarm clock was going off but he didn't want to wake up from his dreams, his fantasies of the young blonde with amazingly blue eyes.

Josh stretched though and hit the snooze button quickly.

"Mmm..." he groaned into the pillow before opening his eyes. He couldn't go back to sleep. He had work in an hour and it was a 30 minute commute.

"God." he moaned as he slid from the bed, ran a hand through his disheveled hair and rubbed at his face.

He saw a blinking red out of the corner of his eye and realized he had a message. He hoped it was his boss telling him not to come in today.

He pressed play and the soft voice of Justin filled the silent room.

"Hey, got your wallet. Come by and get it." and that was the end. Josh played it again before looking over at his nightstand, gasping when he didn't see his wallet.

"Shit." he cursed lightly as he went into the bathroom. He showered quickly, and ran a hand through his hair. He checked his appearance; he looked rushed.

He bounded out of his apartment and into his car, speeding to Justin's neighborhood.

He tried to remember which house it was, exactly but nothing looked familiar. He looked wildly from side to side, trying to spot any landmarks but failed. He finally just stopped in front of a white house, trying to get everything together.

His cell phone rang, interrupting his thinking process and he grabbed it slowly. "Yeah?" he answered.

"Are you going to come in? Or just sit in fronna my house all day."

Josh looked up quickly, looking at the house, amazed.

"Hold on."

Josh got out of the car and tried to walk as confidently as he could to Justin's doorstep.

The door opened before he even touched knob.

Justin stood in a pair of boxers, a large t shirt and wore a small smile. Josh's insides stirred.

"Took ya long enough." Justin complained as he walked away from the door, leaving it open for Josh.

"I was trying to find your house. I didn't even know I was parked in front of it. He explained and Justin nodded.

"Wants something to drink?"

Josh shook his head and checked his watch. 8:30. Shit. "Look, I gotta get to-" His leather wallet hit him in the chest and he snatched it before it fell to the floor. "Thanks." he whispered and Justin shrugged. He wasn't smiling anymore. Josh continued even though he should have been leaving. "How'd you get it?"

Justin shrugged and Josh narrowed his eyes with a hint of a smile.

"Bullshit."

Justin grinned. "I have talented hands."

Josh opened his mouth to say something smart but Justin was leering at him and dammit, he needed to get going.

"I need-"

Justin rolled his eyes. "To go. I know. You know the way out." he said as he chugged his orange juice.

Josh stood with his eyebrows furrowed. "Don't act like that." he said and Justin narrowed his eyes.

"Fuck you. You don't know me."

Justin was leaving when Josh grabbed his arm to stop him.

"What are you doing tonight?" God, he blushed. Out of all the things to say he had to go and say that, didn't he?

Justin sighed and looked at his hands. He certainly couldn't deny this man. "What time do you get off?"

Josh smiled. Progress "6."

Justin nodded. "Come by after ya get off. I gotta watch my brothers til 7 but we can just chill."

Josh smiled. "Alright. Thanks for my wallet."

Justin had a tiny smile also. "No problem." he flicked a business card at Josh. "That's how." he answered before Josh had the chance to ask.

The young blonde leaned in suddenly, let his lips gently brush against Josh's and then he was standing back again, smiling. "Have a good day at work."

-- -- -- -- -- --

Josh stood on Justin's steps, ringing the doorbell.

Seconds later a boy with blue eyes just like Justin answered the door, his face as hard as stone.

"Um... hey, is Justin here?"

The boy kept silent.

"Uh." Josh stepped back, examining the house. Maybe he had the wrong house.

"Jon! Don't be rude." Justin scolded as he stepped in front of Josh. "Hey." he said simply and Josh smiled.

"Hi."

The two stood there for some time, the silence warm around them. There was some unpoken connection between them. Something strong and electric, like a current.

"Justin!" Jonathon groaned and Justin touched Josh's cheek softly before turning around.

"Go play with Greg, buddy." Justin shooed his brother away before leading Josh into the house.

The brunette let himself be lead and noticed Jonathon giving him the evil eye as he walked up the stairs.

He turned to Justin. "I don't think you're brother likes me very much." he said and Justin smiled softly at him.

"He doesn't know you. He thinks you're-" he stopped. "Someone else." and now there was no sunny smile Josh loved seeing so much.

They made it to Justin's room and the blonde closed the door as Josh wandered around.

"How old are you anyway?" Josh asked and then blushed because he had been obsessing over this boy and all he had known was his name.

"20." Josh let out a big breath he hadn't known he was holding. Justin chuckled and Josh felt his knees weaken. "And you're 25."

Josh opened his mouth to ask how he knew but was silenced by Justin's grin. "You're driver's license." And then Justin's arms were around his shoulder and their lips were meshed together.

As they moved naturally together, Justin's hands went underneath Josh's coat and slowly pulled back the article of clothing. His tongue slid into Josh's mouth, meeting the brunette's own as the coat fell to the floor.

Josh's hands rested on Justin's waist, his palms gliding north. Justin trembled as Josh's cold but soft hands roamed over his back.

The blonde pulled back, giving Josh a soft kiss before raising his head closing his eyes.

"There's something between us, Josh." His whisper hit Josh's cheek and he kissed it gently. "I get this feeling when I think of you." Justin looked at Josh with heavy lidded eyes. "When I see you. When I know you're around. And I'm not who I thought I was. I... you make me..." He stopped and sighed. "I can't..." he kissed Josh's ear. "I can't describe it."

"Me neither." Josh agreed and leaned forward, claiming Justin's mouth once again.

-- -- -- -- -- --

"Is it too early to say that I think I love you?"

Justin blushed and nodded. "Yeah, I think it is. 5 days into a relationship is pretty early."

Josh shrugged and Justin kissed his neck. "But we're different." and Justin had to agree.

They were different. They were special, there relationship was different. Justin felt as if he had known this man all his life, when in reality, just a school week. And the feelings the brunette stirred up inside him were like none other. Yea, Justin had to agree to that.

-- -- -- -- -- --

"Fuck..." the moan was loud and obscene in the otherwise silent room. Josh trailed wet kisses down the blonde's hard stomach. His hands bit into Justin's hips but they felt good at the same time.

Justin's head then shot up. "You're clean right?" he asked and Josh lifted his head slowly. He paled, he hadn't even thought of that. How irresponsible!

"Josh!" Justin yelled and Josh had his full attention again.

"Huh?"

"You clean?"

And Josh was quick to nod his head vigorously. He wouldn't have even advanced on Justin if he wasn't. "You?"

Justin nodded and then fell back down with a sigh.

Josh though, was still a little apprehensive. Maybe they shouldn't do this. They had only known each other for a few days, they were going too fast. Yeah, they were going to-

"No, we aren't. I want you, you want me. We're both clean. Come on."

Josh's eyes went wide. How the hell... "How the hell..."

Justin grinned and brought Josh up the by the shoulders. "I can read your mind." he placed a wet kiss to the corner of Josh's mouth. "I can see what you're thinking." his hand traveled down and slid into Josh's pants.

"O-oh good lord..." Josh sighed and Justin smiled. Josh turned and looked at him with glass eyes. "What am I thinking now?" he challenged and Justin grinned against Josh's neck.

"That you want to rip my clothes off and fuck me senseless, but not after you make sweet, slow love to me." Justin pulled away licking his lips.

Josh let his mouth hang open as Justin got to his knees. His head was reeling. He looked down, seeing only a mound of blonde curls.

The boy could actually read his mind.

-- -- -- -- -- --

"We need to talk." Josh had said sternly, trying to get Justin's attention away from the Playstation2 and on him.

"About?"

"Us."

"What about u- Dammit! You fucking bitch! I should kill you! Damn piece of shit." Josh chuckled but then shook his head.

"Justin, I'm serious. Pause the game." Justin looked at him and continued to play. "Fine, fuck you. I'm leaving."

Justin was quick to his feet and he wrapped his arms around Josh tightly. "Ok, ok. What?" he asked and Josh stopped, closing his eyes as Justin's lips made a soft trail across the back of his neck.

"Us."

"Hmm?" Justin's tongue licked at his earlobe and he groaned. He didn't need this right now.

Justin turned him around and stared straight into his eyes, into him. His insides trembled. This was what he was talking about!

"We shouldn't be doing this."

Justin's eyebrows furrowed together. "Doing what?"

Josh chewed on his lip, looking down. "This. What we have or whatever. I, um... we're 2 totally different people and... I think that we should just cool it for a while-"

"What are you talking about?"

"I am talking about us not being together!" he shouted and then closed his eyes. "I mean, we meet on the street and suddenly we're compatible? I don't think so, Justin. I guess... I don't know. I like you, you're a cool guy but just... not for me, ya know?"

Justin's eyes were hard. "No, I don't know. What the fuck are you talking about?"

Josh rolled his eyes. "I'm talking about not being together! Alright?! I don't want to be with you anymore! This isn't working out. I just..."

Justin looked down and then looked up again, his eyes scrutinizing. "You need space. Fine, you can have you're fucking space."

Justin was out in the next instance and Josh sighed. Now that Justin was gone, he could get over these feelings, right?

-- -- -- -- -- --

He dialed the number quickly, his hands shaking as he stood in the corner of the alley.

"Fuck," he cursed as he got the answering machine again. "Fuck, Josh pick the fuck up." His voice broke and he was close to tears. He dialed again.

"Hello?" Oh thank the lord.

"Josh?"

Josh tensed immediately. "Whats wrong?"

Justin squeezed his eyes shut. "Fuck, where are you?" Just hearing his voice was doing wonders to him.

Josh looked around at the table of guests. He lowered his head. "Whats wrong?"

"I can't handle it." he muttered, sinking down to sit on the grimy ground. He didn't want to be seen being an emotional cod.

Josh stood up and excused himself from the table. "Justin." he said walking towards the exit. "Justin, whats wrong? What can't you handle?"

"I need you, fuck. I need you so badly." Justin was crying now and Josh closed his own eyes.

"Shh, no. No, you don't. We agreed Justin. We agree-"

"I lied! Alright? I fucking lied and I can't stop thinking about you and I'm going crazy because we can't be together. And you haunt me, I see you everywhere I go and I can't get you outta my head!"

Josh choked on the lump in his throat. "You know why."

"No I don't! I don't know why! All you said was that we shouldn't see each other because we are 2 different people-"

"And because I can't do it myself!" He yelled and then bit his lip. "Because I want you so badly but I can't have you. I can't have what I want from you. I'm not going to have you around just as a tease-"

"No! God, Josh. You can have anything from me. I don't care, I don't care just don't... don't."

"You don't get it Justin."

Justin sniffed. "Then tell me. Explain it to me, but don't give up. Please."

"You, you're too much. I can't... you, your love, god dammit! You! Justin, you overwhelm me! I can't be near you with out wanting to latch on to you and stay there forever! I can't fucking breath when I'm with you because I don't want to waste any of my breath! I want to fucking stay with you forever and I can't! I fucking.." he choked on a sob. "I can't fucking be with you."

Justin was crying hard now and Josh could hear it. "You're hurting me, Josh. You're fucking hurting me..."

Josh closed his eyes, a tear leaking from the corner. "I'm sorry."

"Come pick me up."

Josh shook his head. "I can't-"

"Come fucking pick me up! I'm not playing."

Josh narrowed his eyes. "No. I am out to dinner right now."

The line was silent and Josh's chest tightened in anticipation.

"Fine." and the phone call was dead.

"Shit." JC cursed as he turned around and kicked the brick wall. "Fuck."

-- -- -- -- -- --

"Justin, where the fuck have you been?" Josh stood on the doorstep and the young man looked at him with bloodshot eyes, a frown on his face.

"Go the fuck away. I hate you."

Josh knew Justin was just being a jerk but it still hurt. Because he loved Justin. Too much for his own good.

"Justin, where have you been?"

Justin looked up tiredly, still slightly buzzed. "With your mom." he chuckled and then stumbled slightly. Josh caught him, and he didn't fight the embrace. Justin smelled like marijuana and beer and Josh put him on the swing. "Whats wrong with you?"

Justin looked up and his head fell back. "You."

"Justin, don't do this shit anymor-"

"Fuck you. Why are you here? I hope not to talk because I don't talk to bitch ass dickwads."

Josh rubbed a hand through his hair, pulling at the ends. "I was worried about you." Justin closed his eyes. "Justin, you don't understand. I love you. So much." he took a deep breath. "Too much."

The air was chilly and all Justin had on was a light t shirt. What the hell had he been thinking. "Fuck Justin." Josh took off his jacket put it over Justin, the young man not responsive.

Josh tucked his arms into his shirt, looking around him. The other houses were all dark, their attendants asleep. What he should have been since he had work the next day.

"We're soulmates, Josh."

Josh looked at Justin and licked his lips. The young man looked at Josh before continuing, their eyes locking and his stomach clenched. "I knew it from the first day I saw you, on the street. You looked at me the same way I was looking at you. I've loved you since then and you've loved me too. Don't fucking deny it."

Josh furrowed his brow. "Justin, its not that easy-"

"Because you're making it hard!" The young man shot up and threw Josh's jacket at him. "Because you won't accept my fucking love! Fucking take it, alright? Just take it." Justin was breathing hard and Josh shook his head. He grabbed Justin's shoulders and brought him to his front door.

"I can't." he whispered and Justin's frown trembled. Josh rang the doorbell then started for his car. He turned around, walking backwards. "I can't!" he yelled and Justin shook his head before his mother answered the door, ushering her son in.

Josh got in his car and sifted a hand through his hair. "Fuck, I just can't."

-- -- -- -- -- --

A week had passed. 7 lousy days and here he was, sitting on Justin's porch. He had rang the doorbell and no one answered. He knew Justin was there. He felt it.

He got up and rang the doorbell again. "Open the door! Justin, I know you're in there!" he yelled and then sighed, defeat creeping up behind him.

"Will you stop banging on my fucking door!" someone yelled and Josh ran to the side of the house, Justin's head poking out from a window.

"Open up and I won't do it again."

Justin's eyes narrowed. "Go away."

"Justin.."

"Fuck. You. Now go away before I call the cops."

"I miss you! Come on! This is some shit. I can't do this anymore!" He shouted and Justin shook his head.

"Do what? Be a lame ass pussy or live with yourself knowing you're a shit-eating bastard?!" Justin shouted back and Josh glared at him. The boy had some mouth.

"Justin, I will climb that damn water spout and get to you!"

Justin smiled slightly and Josh was currently tongue-tied. Justin was so handsome when he smiled, even when he didn't but he was more real when he smiled. God.

"Justin."

Justin frowned again. "You're scaring my brother. Go away. And I mean it, I will call the cops."

"Then I'll come back."

"Then I'll get a restraining order."

"Then I'll violate it."

"Then I'll have your ass arrested. Stop now, because you can't win."

Josh sighed, his shoulders slumped. He then looked up to Justin with a smile. He ran towards the waterspout and jumped as high as he could, climbing up.

Justin's jaw dropped and he rushed out of his window. He ran down the stairs and out the front door. "Josh! Get down here right NOW!" he yelled and Josh turned around, jumping down. His feet hit the ground and he looked up to see a mad Justin. And a mad Justin wasn't good, the fist flying at his face enough to prove it.

He grabbed his cheek in pain and fell to the floor. "Fuck." he cursed and closed his eyes against the searing pain.

Justin stood above him. "Don't fucking fuck with me again, hear me?"

Josh glared at him. "You don't have to punch me!" he groaned.

"You're such a baby. You almost broke my water spout." Justin held his hand out but Josh didn't take it. He got up on his own, his hand still covering the red blotch on his cheek. "You want some ice?"

Josh glared but followed Justin anyway. His eye was pounding. "You don't fucking have to hit me. That hurt you, little shit." Josh groaned and Justin flipped him off.

"Well if you didn't act like such an idiot I wouldn't have to."

"Fuck you!"

Justin turned around quickly. "Look, don't disrespect me in MY house! Alright?"

Josh tried to calm his breathing but Justin hit him! "Whatever." He really needed an ice pack. "I still don't know why you had to go on and hit me."

Justin rolled his eyes. "Be quiet. Just... shut up." They walked into the kicthen. "Sit." Josh sat on the counter and cautiously lowered his hand.

"I can't be-"

"Shut up Josh! Good lord."

Justin pushed Josh's thighs apart and stepped between them. "I can do it myself." Josh grumbled but Justin ignored him.

"Shut up." and he touched the ice pack gently to Josh's swelling cheek. The older man flinched away but Justin put a hand on his head to still him. Josh realized that Justin was touching him again and sighed.

"God, Justin." Josh whispered and Justin looked into his eyes.

"It was your choice."

"And I regret it. I am sorry, ok? I am so fucking sorry and I miss you." Josh grabbed onto Justin's arms.

Justin looked down and away. "You left me, Josh."

Josh looked at Justin's fallen face and sighed. "I know, and I'm sorry. More sorry than you'll ever know."

"God, I don't fucking open up like that Josh! I don't connect like that with people that quickly. You were a damn exception and you just kicked me while I was down."

"I know." He put his hand on the blonde's neck, squeezing affectionately. "And I am sorry for being such an ass. I really, really am."

Justin looked up, straight into Josh's eyes. It was all over then and he looked down quickly. "Apology accepted."

Josh smiled. "Thank you." he leaned closer and Justin couldn't deny that Josh's fingers were setting his body on fire.

Their lips touched briefly before they broek apart, Justin with a small smile. "I feel like I should be more mad at ya." he said and raised the ice to Josh's cheek again. "But I can't."

Josh grinned. "I love you."

Justin couldn't help the grin that covered his face. "I know." he mumbled and Josh laughed. He leaned forward kissing JC's cheek. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to hit you so hard, but you were acting stupid."

"I know-"

"Justin?! Honey!" Both men turned and Justin sighed. He stepped back and gave Josh the ice pack.

"In here, mom." he said and Josh hopped off the counter, blushing, holding the ice pack to his cheek.

Justin's mother came in and her eyes narrowed in thought. "Who's this, Justin." Her tone was hard. She didn't give him time to answer. "I thought I told you no one in the house when you were alone with Jon."

Josh bowed his head. "Nah, mom. Its not like that. This is Josh, he's uh-" He looked to Josh quickly. "He's helping me find a job. He's an architect."

At that his mother's face softened and there was a hint of a smile. "Well, good for you. But still..."

"Don't worry, mom. Its ok." he said softly and Mrs. Harliss regarded her son with a stern eye. He was acting differently. Dare she say nicer?

"Well I should get going." Josh whispered and Justin turned to him nodding. "I'll walk you to your car."

The two walked out the house silently, their shoulders touching. The day was becoming night and the stars were already twinkling in the deep pink sky.

"I'll see you tomorrow?" Justin asked and Josh nodded.

"What time?"

Justin shrugged and then looked back to his house, his mother's face disappearing the second he saw it.

"Whenever, I'll be here."

Josh smiled. "Ok, then."

Justin smiled. "You promise you won't leave me again?" he whispered and Josh suddenly had butterflies in his stomach again because Justin looked incredibly precious.

"I promise, god. I promise you. You can castrate me if I do, alright?"

Justin chuckled, clearing his throat. "Alright. I'll see you tomorrow." He kissed his fingers and then pressed them against Josh's mouth.

Josh smiled against Justin's cold fingers and kissed them gently. "Bye." he whispered and sped off.

Justin watched the car leave and curled his fists. He was in trouble. Big trouble.

-- -- -- -- -- -- --

Josh was in a stupid meeting and it seemed as if it would never end. "God." he groaned softly and turned to the person next to him who was doodling on a piece of paper. She turned and smiled at him before passing it to him.

He gave her a half smile and took it, looking at the person giving the lecture, feeling as if he were 16 again. He started to read it:
Isn't this the most Justin Justin you've ever sat through? Justin was thinking that Justin should just go and Justin himself, save us some Justin.

His eyes were huge as he read it again. And again, and again. He turned to look at the woman but she was paying attention now.

He looked back down and his head suddenly felt light, like there was nothing in it. The sentences were perfect before him. No Justins anywhere, none even on the paper. He blinked hard and looked at it again, and again there were no Justins anywhere on the page.

He sighed and ran a hand down his face. He must be tired. Very tired.

"Oh, and Josh?"

Josh looked up at his name and saw Seth, the person giving the presentation smiling at him. "Can I see you after this?" and Josh nodded, a little weary.

The meeting went on for another 15 minutes, and Josh almost fell asleep twice. Now he walking up to Seth who was putting things in folders.

"You said you wanted me?"

Seth looked up and grinned. "Yeah, actually. Ya know that Richardson deal we have been trying to get?"

Josh smiled. "Yeah, the one in Italy?"

Seth grinned. "Yeah, that one. Well we got it!"

Josh grinned also. "Hey! That's great, who's gonna go? I suppose it would be you or Melind-"

"You."

Josh stopped and stepped back. "Huh?"

Seth was cheesing now and it was sort of scary. "You, Josh. We've been trying to figure out who we should send and you kept coming up." His eyes were watery.

"Um..." Josh smiled, a grin that almost split his face. "Ok!" he agreed. He had wanted this, badly, but he knew he would have never gotten it with Seth in the running. Looks like he was wrong.

"Great! We have you booked on a plane next week, that's ok, right?" Josh grinned and was about to say ok when a picture of Justin passed through his mind and he took in a sharp breath. What about Justin?

"Right?"

Josh looked at Seth. He weighed the options. A great job, great money, Italy for goodness sakes or Justin?

"Can, uh. Can I get back to you?"

Seth looked hesitant. "I mean, by tonight. I just have to make sure that all my plans are canceled and stuff, ya know?"

And Seth smiled and patted Josh on the back. "I understand. Got a girlfriend back home?"

Josh grimaced. Justin wasn't going to be happy. "Sorta."

"Yeah, I know what you mean."

Josh nodded, knowing he really didn't.

-- -- -- -- -- --

"You're late." Justin wasn't angry but he wasn't pleased.

"I know." he dodged Justin as the blonde tried to kiss him. Classic move. Justin felt his chest constrict violently.

"Whats wrong?"

Josh sighed and decided it wouldn't be better if he beat around the bush, so he got right to the point. "I got a job offer, well not an offer but a job in um, well..."

Justin crossed his arms and raised an eyebrow. "Yes?

"Well." he scratched his arm nervously. So much for the not beating around the bush idea.

"Josh, what?"

"Ok, um... ok... IgotajobinItalyandI'mleavingnextweek." he said quickly and didn't dare look at Justin.

But he didn't need to to know that the younger man was seething.

"What?" his voice was low and hard. Shit, this wasn't going to be easy.

"Justin, I know but this is a really good offer-"

"Fuck you! You fucking bastard! You told me you wouldn't leave me!! You fucking lied to me, I-I can't fucking..." he reached around and threw the glass vase to the wall, Josh cringing as it shattered.

"Justin, sto-"

"You fucking stop, I... Oh god damn." he started laughing, a sad drawl that made Josh regret everything he had ever done to this poor boy. "This is probably all a joke. God's playing a fucking joke on me." He closed his eyes. "You." he said his eyes still closed. "You're not real. You're just a... a..."

"Justin, I love you." Josh tightened his arms around the young man and cringed as the boy shook in his arms.

"I hate you right now. I do." Josh ignored him. "I wish I never met you. I wish... I wish you never existed." He pushed away from Josh and stood up on shaky legs.

Josh shook his head. "No, Justin. You do. Cause you love me too." Justin broke down into his arms again and they both laid on the carpet floor until Justin fell asleep crying and Josh didn't feel so guilty.

"2 weeks ago, I met you and I was in love. I saw you and I was yours. I couldn't take my eyes off because you had me under this damn spell. That's why I went with you that night. That's why I let you kiss me. That's why I am here now."

Josh tried not to listen.

"Josh, if you leave me... I, I... God. Don't you see? If you leave me I'm going to go insane because you're my soulmate and you're leaving me and-"

"I know."

Justin stopped his ramblings that were muffled by Josh's shirt. "You know?"

"I know that you're my soulmate. I know that I need you. But I need to go-"

"Why? Why though?"

"Because this isn't good, for either of us. This, thing has overwhelmed us both and we can't let it be."

Justin was silent.

"If I leave, I'll be gone for a year-"

"No, please-"

"See! Justin that's what I'm talking about. What if I died in the next instance?"

"Don't fucking talk like that."

"But what if it happened? What would happen to you?"

Justin sighed shakily. "I'd die too."

Josh gathered him close. "That's what I am afraid of. If I stay, this is only going to get worse. We need space and time from each other. When I come back, then we'll have-" he stopped and looked at Justin. "We'll have..."

Justin gave a smile. "We'll have forever, alright?"

Josh took a deep breath and nodded. "Forever."

Justin smiled slightly and kissed Josh, his kisses light and sweet. "But." he pulled back. "If you don't come back I am going to go there and kill you myself, ok?"

Josh laughed and smoothed down Justin's curls. "Alright."

"Good..." Justin looked up, into crystal eyes. "I love you."

Josh smiled and he was sure Justin could see his heart in his eyes. "I love you too."

"You know, Josh, you mean more to me that you probably know." Justin mumbled burying his face into the warm crook of Josh's neck.

The couple curled up in the covers Jon had given them. Justin had given him money in return.

"We're meant to be Josh."

Josh looked at Justin once more, closing his eyes remembering the first time they met, the first time they kissed, the first time they made love, the first time they fought, and knew, with all of his heart that yes. They were meant to be together.

The plane had been delayed and the blonde man twiddled the rose between his fingers. He had already snapped off all of the thorns waiting for the damn plane and now that there were no more thorns he could only twist the stem.

"Ooh, they're here." he heard a couple say and jumped to his feet immediately, watching as the plane parked. His hands began to shake and he wiped them off on his new jeans bought just for this. He had to look nice.

He watched as people started to filter out. His eyes skimmed over them quickly, just waiting for a glimpse of his love.

But as the more people filled out and no sign of Josh, his hands began to tremble even more. "Oh my god." he breathed as he checked the gate number and then the arrival monitor. Gate A15. This was right.

He looked back to the group of flight attendants walking off, giggling and chatting and he felt his heart starting to give out.

He hadn't waited a year to get stood up. Josh told him. Called him, with the flight information. But what if it was all just a joke. Just a joke.

His eyes started to sting and he shut them tightly. Josh wasn't that cruel, was he? Maybe this was karma, getting back at him all those times he did people wrong. For when he never listened to Jon when he wanted to talk to him. Or when he ignored his mother and went out with friends anyway, showing up blazed at her doorstep in the middle of the night. Or when he took things for granted like friends, and a home, and food and love. His heart was about to beat out of his chest and he opened his eyes slowly knowing he was going to make an ass out of himself and cry right there in front of everyone.

But there, walking slowly towards him, smiling his smile was his love and suddenly he didn't want to stop the tears.

"Oh god." he whispered as they slid down his cheek, painting them shiny. "Oh god." he repeated and Josh's eyes were glassy themselves.

"I love you." was the first thing out of his mouth as he and his brunette hugged, a tight loving embrace he wished never ended.

"I love you too." Justin pulled back but just an inch. "I thought you weren't coming." Josh laughed and smeared Justin 's tears. "Oh my god, I though you weren't coming either." He had tears of his own and his smile turned into a frown. "I thought you would forget about me. I thought that you would leave me here at the airport to show me that this was all just a joke and-"

"God." Justin cried and hugged Josh again. "I thought the same thing! I thought that you were just fooling me and you weren't coming home. I thought that it was karma." he laughed and took his sleeve, wiping off Josh's face. "God, I love you so much Josh. So so much." he took a deep breath and brought Josh to him once again. "Don't ever forget that."

"I won't."

Justin smiled and looked around him, seeing a scatter of people, most of them trying not to look at them, others just blatantly watching them and realized he was proud of them. Proud of them for coming such a long way. "I love you." Josh smiled. "I love you too."

Justin laughed and then brought his lips to Josh's quickly, ignoring that there were other people in the room.

They left then, hand in hand and a couple behind them watched with clear eyes. The elderly woman turned to her friend and smiled.

"Soulmates, I tell ya Geraldine. Soulmates."
