AAAUUGGHH!!
Daddy's an idiot.  He overwrote this page, so a lot of what was in here will be very difficult to recreate.  But I'll try.

Trains!!!
Absolutely the biggest thing in this period was the train phenomenon.  She adored trains.  Particularly Thomas, but ANYTHING involving trains.  Diesels, steam, books, videos, things shaped like trains, people with the same names as trains...

Thomas to the Potty Rescue!
We were getting a little frustrated at Maddie's unwillingness to potty train herself with #2.  Daddy printed out a copy of Thomas on iron-on paper, and ironed it onto a pair of white underwear.  I showed it to Maddie and told her she could wear the underwear when she could go poo-poo on the potty.

She grabbed it immediately, went and got her big Thomas book, ran to her potty, and sat there for 10 minutes, with her pants around her ankles, reading stories to her new underwear.  I convinced her that not even grown-ups could poo on demand.

The upshot is that from the next day on, she never needed another diaper.

Snow
Maddie doesn't much care for snow and cold weather.

Train Song
One evening in the tub, Maddie composed a 10-minute tone poem involving all her favorite engines from the Thomas stories.  It featured the bouncy song:

"Thomas used to have it
but he used to didn't have
But he used to go in pools
And the hair he'd whine about.
....
But the other side of the mountain
Helped him get rid of the hair."

Yellow Yellow Bellow
One of her favorite non-train activities is Yellow Yellow Bellow, where she, Daddy, and Augie run around the loop that winds around the stairwell area, yelling , well, "yellow yellow bellow".
