that go bump in the night...

The small admission fee included
admission to the pool for a
Monster Splash.

A few local homes make a really fine 
effort to decorate their houses
and yards to create a spooky
effect for the kids.

Many people decorate the interiors
of their homes for Halloween
festivities. Some create multiple 
rooms of HORROR that could rival
some of the best wax museums. 
Props can be inexpensive or can
be very elaborate commercially
purchased setups.

For our hauntings, we have a coffin 
that was given to us by friends.
It was purchased originally as part 
of a damaged shipment and was
going to be used to hold seeds
for planting at their farm
in the Okanagan. It was never used 
for that purpose and became a
"hope" chest for another of our friends.
However her mother freaked
out a bit when she discovered it in
the house and told her to get rid
of it. It came to our house riding on top 
of our station wagon. We got 
a few odd stares from people as
they recognized what this box was
on top of the car. One of our friends
really wanted to ride in the coffin
as it was transported but we felt
that this just wouldn't be safe. Now
it makes a lovely addition to our
haunting efforts for Halloween.
It is especially effective in a room 
with cobwebs, a corpse and a 
strobelight. It makes a wonderful
greeting point for quests and
trick-or-treaters. Don't forget some 
cauldrons with dry ice for a
great effect.

With a local group the Beach Boy five
