Black Sabbath
has been one of my favorite bands since I found their first album in a discount bin for $1.49 (US) in 1970... I was listening to a lot of different types of music but I really bought it for the strange cover and title. It quickly became one of the albums that I played most frequently. Their following albums soon had a huge following of fans. I didn't get to see them in concert until after we came to Canada. By that time, Ozzy had left the group and I saw them when DIO was the lead singer. The same month, I got to see Ozzy in concert. Both shows were excellent and it was a real treat to be able to attend these shows. I didn't get to see them again until the Ozzfest concert in Vancouver in 1999 when they had reunited to play some of their oldest material for their fans... (but I did see Ozzy twice with my oldest son in 1998 ) My music collection now contains a huge selection of Sabbath, Ozzy and DIO. (I got to see DIO in concert once here and it was an awesome show as well...) So... I have been listening to Black Sabbath for 30 years now... Strange to think that... they have probably warped my little mind... (reference to South Park... Oh my God! They've killed Kenny!...) Whatever the ups and downs of the personal lives of the members of Black Sabbath, they have given us some great music and the newer bands today are only a pale imitation of of Ozzy and Black Sabbath. ...and it all started with that discount album for $1.49...
