Human societies have used different
symbols for thousands of years.
Most of the symbols that we
have come to associate with
Halloween have come to us from
melding the old Celtic traditions
with the younger Christian religions.
Not all symbols are geometric
or even neccessarily visual
yet they ARE symbols even so.

Some of the more common
Halloween Symbols:
Witches
Black cats
Broomsticks
Scarecrows
Full moons
Bats
Pumpkins
Jack-O-Lanterns

Monsters

Ghosts
Spiders and cobwebs
Pentagrams
Goblins and ghouls
Zombies and mummies
Vampires
Graves, Crypts and Tombs
Skeletons and skulls
The grim reaper
Mad Scientists
Mutants

To some these become
representations of evil.
For others they become
a way to exorcise their
own fears of death
and the unknown.
Some of us see these
simply as FUN.

I hope that you have a fun
HALLOWEEN

Use of these symbols does
NOT
condemn your immortal soul to
HELL

BUT... remember...
True evil DOES exist
Our world has many attrocities
Pathological individuals
sometimes
commit heinous crimes,
uncaring corporations
and governments
condemn much of
the world to poverty,
degradation and hunger.
Repression and discrimination
still rear their ugly heads
even in our so called
enlightened age.

When trick-or-treaters
come to your door
and ask for pennies for
UNESCO
please try to give
what you can...
