Unfortunate news: In Sept. 2008, almost 6 yrs after the discovery of my original brain tumor, and 5+ yrs of being tumor free, I had an unexpected seizure and after a MRI it was determined that my old brain tumor had reccurred. A MRI in June '08 had indicated some edema but no specific concerns so this was unexpected and unfortunate.

After consulting with some neurosurgeons we feel like the best course is a brain tumor resection via craniotomy (similar to my original brain tumor resection in March '03). I am very pleased I will able to go back to Duke Hospital and Dr. Friedman for my surgery.

Like my first surgery, I am very grateful for the prayer and support I am receiving from many friends and family members. Thank you!!
