Mother Of My Heart

I still call you mom,

though our blood is not the same.
You are the mother of my heart,
and I am honored to have your last name.

I have learned a lot from you.
You have taught me very well.
To pick myself up, and dust myself off,
if ever I stumbled or fell.

You know the cost of sacrifice,
and that hard work will always pay.
I love the talks at the kitchen table,
which passes the time away.

I can always count on you,
for late phone calls just to chat.
Sometimes you can be stubborn,
but you already know that.

You love all your children,
and you are there when we call.
For moral support, or cooking directions,
you can do it all.

The smell of fresh brewed coffee,
and the way you do your hair.
These and many others
are all the memories that we share.

You have always welcomed me,
and accepted me in your life.
I am very blessed and grateful,
to be your sons wife.

I have felt like your family,
right from the very start.
You will always be an angel,
the mother of my heart.
